  1. Chuck , I'm seeing alot of cool stuff going on in this CBP and have been waiting to find a kit so I could join in . I finally found one and wanted to let you know that I'm in ! I've already started another build so this one will be next on my table . There's no time limit right ? BOB .
  2. That's pretty cool ! The mods you did make for a great looking car , and yeah , those wheels are nice . I think Don would approve !
  3. Wow , you've got quite a collection if Cheetahs ! Very nice . Love the color !
  4. Chris , Nice looking Willys , I really like the green . Did those wheels come with the kit ?
  5. That's a NICE Charger ! The color combo is sharp , especially with the wheels painted to match . It's refreshing to see a Charger other than another GL .
  6. I'm an El Camino guy ( owned 6 ) but have always liked this year Ranchero. Ace-GarageGuy - Where did you get stock cleveland valve covers ? I couldn't find them anywhere . Thanks for the offer , but I've already started making a set . Bartster - In Florida they are registered as a car . Kruleworld - The Torino GT kit comes with a really nice 429CJ . Austin T - I plan on this color combo , minus the vinyl top , and with different wheels .
  7. The Streaker Vette is a very good kit from MPC . It has beautiful wheels and tires compared to todays kits . Here is mine that I built in 1977 .
  8. Kevin , You CAN do this ! I started smoking in the service at 17 . I smoked 2 packs a day for 38 years ! Last June 2nd something happened and I had to quit . Now after a year I feel better and can honestly say " I don't want a cigarette " ! And the extra $$$ don't hurt either ! Hang in there ! BOB .

    Cheetah

I'm not an expert so I hope some one can fill in the gaps . From what I remember very few were ever finished ( 6 ? ) before the fire . They were run with independents with little support and only entered a handful of races . They were reliable enough to blast past Cobras in the few races they entered ! Problem was the heat inside . They never finished a race because the driver couldn't finish ! One person cut the top of his Cheetah to solve this problem . Thus was born the " Cro - Sal Roadster " ! It was very successful and after being restored in the 80's began running the Historic Racing cicuit . It still exsists , and is owned by an individual in the N. W . United States .
  10. Very nice Chris ! The color is cool and the wheels are perfect .
  11. I agree . And the yellow is going to look great ! People think I'm crazy , but I've seen a couple bright yellow cobras and they are beautiful .
  12. Nice work Harry . Simply amazing what can be done on a computer .

    some art

Nice work . Is it pencil or charcoal or something else ?
  14. It's time to start another project and this is it . The 1972 Ranchero by Motor City Resins . I actually purchased it from Scale Modeling By Chris along with the decals and a MAD distributor . The resin seems to have a flex additive in it , so it's not stiff and brittle like most resin bodies . This doesn't cause any problems as it sands very easily , just like all resin bodies do . The parts detail is very good , especially the front grille . It should be very easy to open it up and see thru to the radiator ! Unfortunately , the one I recieved doesn't fit the body very well and will need a bit of work . The panel lines on the body will need to be scribed alot , since they aren't very deep . Same goes with the trim around the bed and windshield . These are the decals I bought from Chris . The quality looks great ! Besides the body stripes there are several Ranchero scripts and F O R D letters for the hood . I'll be using the chassis from the Monogram '70 Torino kit . It's a unitized chassis , so I'll modify it to represent a full frame with a scratch built rear suspension . It won't be 100 % correct , but since I've never been a "rivet counter" , I don't care ! Enough said about that . The Revell Mach I kit donates the 351C engine . From what I can tell it's nicely detailed , except it only has Ford Motorsports valve covers and I want stock ones . Guess I'll make my own .
  15. Nick , That body is turning out great ! I'm impressed by the nose and rear deck emblems . Not even going to ask how you did it , because I know the answer . . . a toothpick and a lot of patience .
  16. You put a lot of effort and imagination into this build . Good Job ! And , look at that ! There is something in the trunk ! Very nice .
  17. Thank you to the guys who posted comments today . I was surprised to see this back up towards the top of the page after almost a month . This is only the fourth model I've finished since getting back into the hobby last year , and I'm still trying new things and learning new stuff every time I look at the models on this forum . I used BMF for the first time on this one and I really like it . I resisted it for a while , but finally gave in and bought some . I will always use it from now on ! I still plan on making a couple of minor changes to this wagon , but they will have to wait since I have a couple of new builds started . BOB .
  18. Now that is Black ! ! And you say that is only Tamiya polish ? Gonna have to try that stuff . Overall , a beautiful 3 - Window . Nicely done .
  19. I'm a station wagon Nut , and yours is beautiful ! The colors are perfect 50's and your attention to details is top notch ! Can't believe I missed this one .
  20. I definetly enjoyed it ! Very nice , and very clean build . You do nice work .
  21. Beautiful ! ! The contrast of the black moulding and trim against the yellow really stands out . You nailed it ! !
  22. Nice ! Nice paint , nice engine , nice BMF , and the Harley decal in the rear window is a cool touch ! Are the Keystones and the tires MRC ? They look great .

    Baja Beast

Yep , they are getting pricey ! I've been looking for awhile and doubt I will ever find one . Your paint work is amazing ! I love your choice of colors , and it is SHINY !!
  24. Eric , This is looking really good ! You're putting alot of effort into the detailing and scratch building . Isn't it fun ? ! ! Especially doing stuff you've never tried before ? This will look awesome when you are finished ! BTW - Your photos look much better now .
  25. You're right Rob . I forgot the rear sheet metal IS different between '71 and '72 . Thanks for correcting me .
