  1. Thanks Mario ! Same here with the Torino . It's another step that I've added when fitting parts on all my builds . Thanks much John ! Thank you David ! I've seen others and they just don't look right with the tires not centered . Thanks very much David !
  2. Enter it , she's a real beauty !! Well done !
  3. Thanks Lee ! The turned Gold decals are from Speedway Decals . Thanks Peter ! It would be nice to get these tires in a separate pack or a different kit . I don't like the white top (I think Barris did that) or the dark tan so I tried an Ivory color , maybe could be a little darker . Don't know why MPC made the decals so large back then , seems it could have been corrected sometime over the years . The ones I used were from Speedway Decals .
  4. Naaah. Thanks Joe ! Thanks Ray !
  5. Looks kinda cool and I like those wheels ! Nice work !
  6. Another sharp looking Cobra Ray ! Yes the metal flake is out of scale (I'd hate to see it on a 1/25 Cobra) but I like the paint and plan on giving it a try on other projects , thanks for testing it for us !
  7. Beautiful 'Bird Chris ! There's nothing wrong with JoHan kits and they have some of the most accurate bodies ever done .
  8. Thanks David ! Those blue line Goodyears ARE in the latest reissue !
  9. Thanks much Alan ! Thanks ! Thanks very much John ! Yes a tire pack would be great ! Or at least in another kit with better parts that can be used elsewhere .
  10. Well now that's just about the neatest windshield mod I've ever seen , definitely going to be one nice Green Hornet !
  11. Even though I grew up in the 60's and watched the television show I've never had much interest in building this kit , but I like nice tires and when I saw the blue line Goodyears in this latest reissue I decided to give it a try . It's a very basic kit , typical of these types from the 60's . The only real issue I found was that out of the box the tires aren't centered in the body openings , so I spent the time to correct this by relocating the axles . At the same time I widened the front track 3/16" and narrowed the rear track the same 3/16" so the tires fill the openings correctly , or at least better than they did . So here's my Monkeemobile , built out of the box except for aftermarket decals and some polished aluminum tailpipes . I also added my own 6.5 Litre and Dean Jeffries badges , they're a bit larger than I planned but I still think they look okay . Paint is Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red and Krylon Ivory . Thanks for looking ! All comments welcome .
  12. For all of your troubles it still looks mighty nice ! I'm a bit weird 'cause I always preferred the look of a '67 with the soft top "up" .
  13. That is soooo cool , love the hot rod black primer look !
  14. Excellent looking race car Blake , your detailing looks spot on to me and congrats on the win first time out ! I learned the same way as your Dad and still use many of those old ways when building my own models , I'm sure he's very proud of you !
  15. Very kewl Dan , excellent paint and detailing ! Good call not making it a roadster , looks much better this way !
  16. Beautiful Woody Dave , love the polished yellow plastic ! The '32 grille looks right at home and great work on the decals , there's a small learning curve printing your own but those look excellent to me !

Well done Tony , looks great in red ! Don't models look so much better with separate windshield wipers instead of having them molded in ? Why they all aren't like this I can't understand .
  18. Lookin' great so far John , love those eyelashes !
  19. Thanks DW ! I have that pic somewhere but forgot I had it , I think that smaller pic you posted is a restored car not the race car . I also found this shot from the '71 Daytona 500 . . . guess I'm adding the headrest !
  20. I like this one ! Can I choose which exhaust I get ?
  21. Thanks John ! Yeah those sink marks on the rear bumper are pretty bad , they should have caught those . I was going to add the headrest but decided not to , from all the pics I've looked at it's in the restored cars and museum cars but wasn't actually in the '71 race car . . . I'm sure if I'm wrong somebody here will let me know .
  22. Not perfect ? It looks mighty nice to me , great job !
  23. Beautifully done Tony , I'm sure your Grandfather would love it ! I agree the promo chassis looks cool !
  24. Beautifully done Mark !
