One of the most impressive builds I've seen , and that's saying a lot considering the level of talent on this forum . Well done ! I'm sure everybody will be referencing this for their own future projects .

Nothing wrong with three , they're great ! The Talbot Lago is gorgeous and that little Corvette is just plain cool looking , well done !

Salvino's JR - '71 Petty Plymouth
TooOld replied to TooOld's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
It was a Houndstooth pattern . That's the reason I made a separate insert for the seat , so it could be replicated with a decal . -
Thanks very much John ! The Ranchero is a replica of one my late Brother In Law owned years ago so it's special to me too . The Digger is kind of unusual too , those photos don't really tell the whole story . . . maybe this explains it better .

Thanks much Bob ! That Bug Bomb has become very very hard to find , maybe if you can scrounge parts someone may be able to supply a body (hint hint).

Thanks very much everybody !

First Aviation Build
TooOld replied to bluestringer's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Looks pretty darned good to me James ! It's a challenge to try something new and you did just fine . I built my first plane several years ago and have never done another , maybe one day . -
In 2022 I finished more than usual but I only crossed one major project off of my bucket list , the '69 Ranchero GT is a build I've wanted to do for many years and hopefully I can cross off another in 2023 . I also did maybe the most difficult thing I've ever tried to build , the Metal Earth Space Shuttle/Launch Vehicle . . . with eighty pieces this P.E. kit was a real struggle ! Here's my entire Class of 2022 .

No excuse needed . . . it's just plain cool ! Great conversion , I want a real one !

The Wood Brothers '71 Cyclone has always been a favorite of mine and yours is looking great ! More photos please ! -
You're doing a superb job on this Joe , it's going to be winner when finished ! I've always wanted to build a Green Hornet and you've set the bar pretty high .
-
Excellent collection Mark , you had a very good year !
-
Very sharp looking Chevelle Justin , well done !
-
Beautiful Chevelle Mike , it's cool that you built a replica of your Dad's car ! It looks to be show quality to me , welcome to the forum !

Salvino's JR - '71 Petty Plymouth
TooOld replied to TooOld's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Started on the engine earlier this week and have made some progress , mainly paint and then some assembly . I used a M.A.D. distributor which was a tight fit but looks okay , and I added the stock oil fill tube to the driver's side valve cover . Seems a bit redundant but all the photos of NASCAR Hemi's I've found show it being there . Another update soon , thanks for looking ! -

Thanks Trevor , it's a really nice kit ! -
Already in the planning stage ! I remember that acetate windshield , what a pain .

Oh my that's soooo nice ! Never would have thought of building a 300B as a custom , beautifully done ! I feel your frustration with the molded in wipers , why they still do this is unbelievable to me . Finding suitable replacements along with decent looking mirrors is something I'm always searching for .
