Well known modeller, the late Rex Hays over here in the UK started to produce car kits in wood and metal in 1/32nd scale. I can remember a Type 59 Bugatti being done but do not know of any others he produced.

1992 Land Rover Range Rover
Bugatti Fan replied to StanGlover's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Nice model of this very capable Range Rover off roader. The first iterations of this vehicle and the Discovery retained true off road capability like its Land Rover predecessor. The latest versions do not have anywhere near the same ground clearance and appear to have become urban status symbols. I would be more worried taking one of the latest ones off road than the original Range Rover depicted in this model build. -
Thin Tape That Will Stay Put.
Bugatti Fan replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Art suppliers may be a very good source of extremely fine thickness vinyl tape in widths right down to 1/32nd or 1/16th of an inch. A!ternatively, Washi Tape (a thin smooth paper masking tape) can be stuck to a glass surface (I use an old halogen security lamp lens for this) and it can be cut into thin strips with a sharp scalpel and steel engineers rule. -
Many die casts offer the opportunity to use a relatively inexpensive model as the basis for upgrading and of kit bashing. I find that the working doors, hood and trunk by being working items leave very oversized gaps that need attention to look more realistic in most cases.

Lovely model, with great appeal to many of us old timers who used to watch the TV programme way back in the early 60's. Great cast. My favourite was the actress who played granny. Can remember one show where Jethro returned home saying ' What's for dinner tonight Grandma?' To which she replied ' Possum innards!'. Then Jethro asked 'And what about tomorrow Grandma?' To which she replied 'Leftovers!'.

Same over here in the UK. Used to be a number of good hobby shops within an hours drive from where I live. Alas, most if nearly all have gone! A number of years ago a company named Beatties was buying up local hobby stores like there was no tomorrow and shortly went bankrupt, so many of the stores they acquired closed overnight as soon as the liquidators went in. A company named Hobby Zone tried to emulate Beatties with multiple outlets and quickly went the same way, so another swathe of hobby shops suddenly fell by the wayside. Some independents carried on but gradually they started to disappear too. Only very few left now!I If you still have a LHS, use it or lose it!

Not many pioneer roadster kits in any scale. Nice build from that very elderly kit and something a bit out of the ordinary.

Pity about the plastic in the kit. As for the Monkees themselves, I think that only Mickey Dolenz survives.

How to do a candy fade on model cars
Bugatti Fan replied to Brockc's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Nice to see some different approaches depending on the type of fade required. -
Nice model! A very good replica of this iconic car. I take my hat off to all you guys who make really good jobs using those now quite elderly kits like this one and the big Revell (ex Monogram) kit. It would be very nice if someone like Tamiya were to tool up this particular subject in 1/12th scale so we could have a state of the art kit of this car.

Richard's mask idea should work ok. It would be difficult to hold a mask and free hand airbrush at the same time. But if the base colour coat has been applied and left to dry, stand off masks can be affixed using blue tack or similar to hold the mask whatever the thickness of the blue tack is off the surface. A feathered edge is obtainable using this method and the desired effect depends on how the airbrush is used around them. -
Your Bentley developments and the ones that Nick at Unobtainium are doing have taken this well tired old kit into another dimension altogether. Look forward to seeing what parts both you guys will be marketing eventually.

Road Train Australia
Bugatti Fan replied to Jürgen M.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Looks good Jurgen. Road trains are definitely an Aussie thing. Not aware of any other country running those kind of vehicles. -
Friendly loveable Squirrels..

I have seen black squirrels in my garden over the last couple of years or so. I think that they may be mutants of the greys? -
The Italeri 1/12 Bugatti Type 35B will be shipping soon.
Bugatti Fan replied to LDO's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
A bit late coming back to this thread again. Bought mine from Leeds Model Shop. Best UK price I could find at £130.00. The kit is a bit odd in that it came with a photo etched spare wheel carrier but no spare wheel and tyre. I reckon that they will probably be issuing a follow up kit with the road going items like the spare wheel, fenders and lamps etc.? -
Nice wear and tear on the engine Louis. Looks like it's been around the block a bit.

An exceptional build Louis.

Magazine Editor How do you contact?
Bugatti Fan replied to Bugatti Fan's topic in How To Use This Board
It's not available over the counter in the UK like Scale Auto was Dave, and the odd few copies I do have are pre Greenberg. Maybe the powers that be could look into UK distribution via our biggest newsagent bookstore chain W.H.Smith? -

Friendly loveable Squirrels..
Bugatti Fan replied to A modeler named mike's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Yeah! We have enough of them to use in the pot! Surprised that celebrity chefs in exclusive London restaurants are not offering them on their menus. Help preserve wildlife. Pickle a Squirrel! -
Could not find any email contact details for the magazine editor on the staff list. How do you contact Larry Greenberg?

The greys are amusing to watch but unfortunately since being introduced to the UK from across the Atlantic our native red squirrels have been forced out of many of their habitats by the greys. -
Nice model. Tamiya's kit makes a very good replica of this iconic British saloon. Back in the day it was always the British gangsters getaway car on TV and film.
