  1. Great looking model and idea as a tribute. You did some real justice to that model.
  2. Did anyone notice that this is the first auction that the buyer has won? And a big one at that too! Ooof! Well, you know what they say at auctions....BID OFTEN AND BID HIGH!!!
  3. Well, you can't fault the seller on that one. He did state they are for 1:24/1:25 scale in the title of the listing.
  4. I like that CH 600. At a previous job, I got one fresh off the road for yard use when the company bought a few batches of 613's to update the fleet. Might have to get that kit to recreate the "Yard Dog" I had.
  5. I use both. Cans for primering and single color body painting. Air brushes (3) for metalizers, weathering, and odd colors not in cans.
  6. Just got done looking on Amazon at different ones. Picked out a few to ponder on, but I'll definately be getting something similar soon. It'll be better than the homemade set-up I have now that really works best outside in the sun...which we haven't had a lot of lately.
  7. One of these months I'll make it to check things out. I'll try next month. Too busy all this month on Friday's.
  8. Didn't think of that. I've got the paint sludge thing going on at the bottom of the tub and about ten years worth of coffee filters. Thanks!
  9. 1) Was your introduction to modeling at home?.....Yes 2) From whom?.....My dad 3) What kind of models (cars, planes, trains, etc)?.....He built mostly airplanes and a few cars. I build mostly Muscle Cars & WWII airplanes. 4) What did the person who introduced you to modeling do for a living ?.....Carpenter 5) How old were you?.....11-12 6) About what year was your introduction?.....1981-2
  10. The four stroke engine kit was off of ebay as well as the carbon fiber decals. Picked up the Mustang yesterday at the LHS and finally, my order from Scale Finish arrived this morning.
  11. Yes, it's reaching stores now. Just picked one up today myself.
  12. I believe you are correct...due to a UAW strike if I'm not mistaken which extended the 1969 model year slightly.
  13. 2105 eh? I guess I'll have plenty of time to save up.
  14. For me it was my first car. A 1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport. Since the GTO reverted back to an option again on the LeMans line, it was outfitted with the Endura Bumper and scooped hood. So it looked like a GTO would have. It had the 350 2-barrel and a previous owner had put headers on. Not long after I bought it the carb went bad, so instead of rebuilding or just replacing it I opted for an upgrade. Off with the 2-barrel and manifold to an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and Holley 650. Well, after a few years of fun driving I felt it was time to start putting my plan into action and started the tear down at my moms house. That didn't get too far and the neighbor complained about the car. Seeing how expensive such a task would be I reluctantly tried to sell it as is. I sold the Holley to a guy at work and only had a few callers for parts that I had to turn down because they didn't want the whole car. I ended up selling it for scrap. The guy who came to pick up the car recognized the car by the VIN, so I don't think it ended up being scrapped. Selling the car was a sad day that I regret to this day 20+ years later. Here's another one that got away...my fault though. I had first dibs before it went on the market and passed on it.
  15. The ebay seller didn't sell the car and it went up for auction at Mecum in Indianapolis over the weekend. It was bid up to $350,000 and was a no sale.
  16. I had one back in the late 80's. Think I only have the tires from that one left. The one I posted above was from the annual sale at Model Empire a couple of years ago. And yes, I'm in the Milwaukee area...at least for now.
  17. Ok, I'll let it slide since I have family down there in Illinois...too many places to list.
  18. I picked this about a month or so ago.And yes, it has an engine. The hood is molded in with the body, but real thin around it. So, it's pretty easy to have the hood removable to show the engine.
  19. You and everybody else from Illinois have. I think it's a law here for all of you outta staters to stop there and buy cheese. But no, it doesn't count.
  20. There's also Classic Cars @ Classic Lanes in Greenfield...54th & West Layton Ave from 5-9PM Wednesday nights. Same show that use to be held at The Golden McDonald's on S 76th St. before it was torn down and rebuilt.
  21. Went out to my wife's favorite book store, Half Price Books, to get her a little something for Mother's Day. I usually don't find much there, but today I did find a book for a little inspiration for later...model building that is. Who knows, maybe for a 1:1 sometime in the future too.
  22. Thanks for the info Mike. Like I was saying, I'm just glad I was able to get one at a decent price...for the full detail kit. I've wanted one for a bit and they just kept getting bidded up to more than I was willing to spend. I just happen to be the only bidder on that one.
  23. Great looking Cat Marcos. Love the lines on the 62's. Looks like it was just built, delivered, and waiting for Arnie to pick it up and put his touches on it to go racing.
