I picked that one up a few years ago at Barnes and Noble...off the clearance racks. Great pictures for reference.

72 Cutlass questions
The70judgeman replied to DrKerry's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm going to be doing the same thing later after a couple of builds I'm working on. They happen to be AMT '69 442's. I don't know if the Revell chassis fits, but the AMT chassis fits ok under the JoHan body pretty well. Just so you know if the Revell doesn't work. -
Scale Auto Hobby & Toy Shows 2013 Schedule
The70judgeman replied to The70judgeman's topic in Contests and Shows
I see you're new to the forum, so welcome. I know there are a few guys that flat out won't go to the show because there's too much die-cast and a lot of junk, but just ignore it and walk on by. Well, just look at the title of the show...it's not ALL just models. There's still plenty of kits to be had. I've managed to spend a couple a hundred bucks there over a few shows. I'm not going to make this show, Jan 20, I need to save some money. So, hopefully you'll enjoy the show. Oh yeah, PM some of the guys that say they're going and maybe you can meet up with them at the show at least just to meet and say hi...put a face to a name. -
I'd really have no use for a sports car, but it is a sharp looking car. I was one of those people that always said I'd never buy a foriegn make car, BUT in 2006, when Hyundai did a 180 on everyone, I was so impressed with the new Sonata, I had to check it out. Ended up buying a 2007 seven months later. Right now there are 4 different Hyundai's in my family...Elantra(sisters husband), Sante Fe(sister), Tucson 4x4(my wifes), and my Sonata. No major problems with any of them. I wouldn't mind seeing a model of the Genesis Coupe or the new Genesis R-spec Sedan. Just saw a commercial for it the other day on TV. Yup, Hyundai "sported" the sedan.

Not much today. Bought 3 bottles of paint, 2 bottles of Floquil Engine Black, and 1 bottle of Model Master Anthracite Grey Metallic for the rims on a dual project to be posted, hopefully soon, in the "Under Glass" section. Also got a few magazines including the AK Interactive "Dust" Weathering issue. And finally, a set of Fred Cady '70 Oldsmobile 442/Rallye 350 decals for a future project.

I'm still up in the air about it. I'm sure Casey is going. -
Real or Model #207 FINISHED!
The70judgeman replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
Definately not real, but it looks more like a CG model than an actual model. -
Looks really sharp! Probably the same paint code, but Pontiac called it Iris Mist.

Muscle Car Stamps
The70judgeman replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Might have to pick these up and frame them and add it to the picture collection for the future "man cave". Just some more eye candy on the wall along with the models. -
Welcome Tomo. Only been modeling for around a year? I'm impressed! Great paint work and clean assembly. I'm definately looking forward to more of your finished models.

Muscle Car Stamps
The70judgeman replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Searched a little bit and found no pics, but from what I found they'll be the '66 GTO, '67 Shelby GT500, '69 Dodge Charger Daytona, '70 HEMI 'Cuda, and '70 Chevelle. -
All really nice builds. I especially like the B-26 Marauder dio.

Bad News, Happy Hobbie burns
The70judgeman replied to Funkster's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Compared to Model Empire, which is in an old building too, and Greenfield News & Hobby, you'd have to admit ALL three Happy Hobby stores were/are sties. You'd know better than me about the 76th & Good Hope store, I've only been there maybe once or twice, but the Burleigh store has had a leaky roof for as long as I can remember...over 20 years. The aisles seem to get narrower to avoid water damage and are pretty disorganized. All of their prices are too high(it seems the second a kit goes out of production the price of that kit doubles) and so, in my opinion, they don't turn enough profit to do maintenance...just enough to keep the doors open. OR, they're just too lazy to do any. As far as water damaged/moldy/mildewed kits are concerned, they'd rather keep it on the shelf at a high price and never sell it instead of reducing the price to move stock. There were plenty of kits I would have bought that were damaged, but they wouldn't budge on the price...I've asked. I don't care about the box or decals...would have thrown them away before I got in the house and would have got new decals. The plastic can be washed. So, I guess I really don't feel too sorry for these guys that one of their stores burned down. I know that last statement sounds a little cruel, but the fire is starting to sound a little fishy. -

Couldn't say about batteries. Their R/C area was so disorganized. From what I could tell, because I didn't go there often and not for R/C, everything in the that area is old stock covered in dust...no product turn-over. Who knows what all was buried back there behind the counter. -

They had some, but I think you're asking about Nitro Fuel. Not a whole lot that I remember. Not nearly the R/C stuff as say GN&H if you're familiar with them. -

That's what I'm thinking...also had a leaking roof. And we all know water and electricity don't get along. -

Just out of curiousity...what tip did the police get? -
LOVE IT!!! I want to build one myself...just don't care for the MPC kit. Wish someone else would produce a '70 GTO kit. HEY REVELL or ROUND2...here's your sign!!!

Sweet! Soft top, hard top, And NO top...Looks great all three ways!

With the leaky roof, I'm betting it was electrical. Water found its way to an electric juntion and sparked a fire. Just my guess. Told y'all to stay outta there! Well...at least the mold problem is fixed.

Monogram 1/24 1987 Buick GNX
The70judgeman replied to Jordan White's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I may be right or wrong here, but I think you're talking about Regal T-type Turbo's that were in various colors. All GN's and GNX's released to the public were all painted black. -
Hey...one can only ask. Anyway, which one of the 1/8th scale T/A's is it...the '79 T/A or the '80 Turbo T/A? Just curious...you didn't show it in the "What Did You Get Today" thread.
