  1. Will that even work on plastic ? Just wondering .
  2. Coming along nicely.
  3. Mine always got blown up with firecrackers on the 4 th. Sure wish I had them now.
  4. Ya, sorry but it is too late. Just kidding ! As others have said it is never too late. Get yourself a simple kit. some paint, some glue, and a few tools and go for it ! As for getting to the level of the people here I would say that depends on you but I would not worry about that. There are many. many, many guys here that can out build me with a hand tired behind their back but still I build. the guys here are great at giving you encouragement. I myself just try and build my next kit better than my last. if your not as good as others here who cares ? Build them and let us see them. The great guys here will help you anyway they can. They can steer you to the best kits and help with what tools you need as well as tips and hints. It is a great hobby. Now....... Go get a kit ! Good luck.
  5. Thanks. Yes, the tires and wheels are in this kit. The whitewalls are decals and I did spray them with 2 coats of Dullcoat. They do still look a little shiny however.
  6. Ok. Got a little more done on the Impala. The body is now cleared but will still need to be polished and BMF applied. On the interior I used a straight pin with a round head for the shifter and I made a suicide knob for the steering wheel. I am now working on making a straight axel set up to complete the "gasser" look. Comments ? Let me have it, I can take it.
  7. Back in the day, almost any Revell kit that had opening anything.
  8. Looks great. Nice job on the roof.
  9. OK, got my gun. Now where are those zombies ?
  10. That car looks so cool. As mentioned before the hood ornament and the blue dots are a very cool touch. I have to get me one of those kits. Also the pitting on the bumpers looks real.
  11. Very nice work.
  12. How the heck did I miss this ? Wonderful build as always. Paint work, details, execution is just mind boggling to a simple builder such as myself.
  13. Excelent builder. I believe he also holds several speed records.
  14. Good ideas here. Of course you can build on the floor so you don't have to spend so much time on your hands and knees like I sometimes do looking for that dropped part only to discover it is stuck to my pants. : )
  15. Ya, you did a good job on that Bronco.
  16. I like everything about this build. Nice work !
  17. Very cool bug .
  18. Ya know, that's a good tip about trying to stretch the tube first. Where were you when I was going crosseyed trying to put that tubing on the wire ? : ). Don't know why I didn't think of that. I actually spent 15 minutes on the first one and had no luck. I guess I will try that if I attempt a wired distributer again. Thanks everyone for the kind words.
  19. The decal sheet provides the seat pattern. Pretty nice kit with lots of detail decals. The side trim is decals also. I am beginning to think I should have used BMF on them. Not sure how it will look with BMF on the window trim and not on the side trim.
  20. Love them 55's and 56 Fords. I bought a 55 from a friends mom and dad for 25 bucks. Yes, 25 dollars. This was in 1970 give or take a year. it was a 4 door but in good shape inside and out and ran great. I only had it for about two weeks. My BIL worked for Sears as a TV tech and Sears let them take the trucks home back then. The techs were told that the trucks would be taken away. As my sister and BIL had 3 kids and not much cash I sold it to him for the same 25 bucks I paid for it. A week later Sears changed their minds and still allowed them to take the trucks home. When I heard that I was happy because I could get the 55 back. I was angry to find out my BIL sold it to someone else. Man I was mad. That was a long time ago and he turned out to be one of my best friends. Never did find out what he sold it for or to who. Still after all these years it bugs me. Post some photos if you pick the 55 up.
  21. Looked good before, looks better after. Nice job.
