  1. Thanks, fellas! Now, on to the Impala that I have started........
  2. I'm pretty much done with this one, guys! There's some details left to fix under the hood, and I had fish eyes in the headrest so they will be added later. Also I need to find some better wipers, the ones in the kit are not the greatest. Those who have built this kit know of the fitment issues.... seems every part needs to be worked to fit. Thanks to those who followed the WIP..... Please feel free to comment!
  3. and Thank You, Chris....... Would trade with you anytime!
  4. That's a very nice color! Will make for a stunning model........
  5. It would be cool if we could get this topic pinned! Here's a final ride height mock up of a '67 Impala. I'll be using these wheels from the '62 T Bird........
  6. Thank you, my friend! I just finished it up today......
  7. Thank you Douglas! Yea, all I've done so far has been cut on the sheet. I use a single blade and just move the ruler over as wide as the trim is.... Something funny? We've both had T Bird projects going, and you said you've an Impala to do..... I also will be building an Impala next! A '67.......
  8. I've been working on the foil for this...... I wanted to show you guys a tip on doing long straight pieces of the trim. What I do is cut the foil on the paper the width of the trim with a straight edge. You want it a little long so you can handle the ends.... Then apply to the body. There's no way I could cut such a straight line on the body! I never had luck trimming on the body, so I had to adapt. So that's what I'm working on right now! Please feel free to comment.........
  9. I think the trick with this puppy will be to not let her get riled up to where she's wanting to bite..... I played with her this morning and just didn't play very rough, kinda kept it low key. She was fine with that! Correcting her with a stern voice makes her pause, but her attention span is still a little short......
  10. Cool, guys.... Thank you much for the advice. My neighbor has plenty of experience with dogs, but they've been mostly Rottweilers, which are laid back and eager to please.... I'm thinking maybe she's not the ideal home for this pup.
  11. My neighbor recently took in a puppy to foster for the local rescue. The pup was only about 2 or 3 weeks old when she was turned in to the rescue. She is now going on about 8 weeks. She was separated from her mom and litter mates way too early. Puppies learn their manners from interacting with the litter and mom. Their mother corrects their behavior. She's never had that 'correcting'. We can already tell she will need a male owner, and someone with experience with an unruly dog. She is very "mouthy", as in she likes to bite, especially my neighbor, who the puppy thinks is her mom. She also is starting to 'hump', like her toys and stuff. That's a sign of wanting to have dominance. She is a very sweet pup, but she needs some correcting. Anyone have any ideas as to what to do? I know we have a bunch of animal lovers here, hopefully someone can offer some advice. Thanks.....
  12. Thanks, guys! Thank you, Carl! It looks a little better in person, kind of a chestnut color..... This kit has the option to build it with a three-deuce setup or a single four.....
  13. I've made a bit more progress! We had very nice weather today, so I was able to get this thing in the brown paint. I sprayed one coat of gold, three coats of brown, and two coats of clear, all today. These two pics are outside....... I've also got the fiddly suspension done, it's up on it's wheels now...... I've got to wait a few days before I can polish it........ In that time I can decide if I really want to attempt a panel paint job. I had such a good day as far as painting goes, and I don't want to tempt fate and screw something up..... That's what I have for now! Please comment freely.......
  14. That really did come together, didn't it! The foil especially pops against that blue nicely.......
  15. These all look really good, Chris man..... It's very important to write down what all your visions for each kit are. If you're like me, you forget what all you wanted to accomplish!
  16. Today marks 10 years that I've been on the forum...... What pleases me is that not only has my building improved, but I've made some cool friends here...... Thanks for letting me be here, it's the best forum anywhere!
  17. You've heard of Larry Watson, I'm sure.... He pretty much started the "panel" paint job trend..... Here's the engine for this. Also, I've fitted the built interior into the body...... Now I can move on to the suspension, and start painting this thing! Thanks for looking in, guys....... comment freely.
  18. I'm using the gold as a base coat..... I'm gonna try to mask what I want to stay gold on the body, then spray the brown. I'll be going for a Watson style paint job.......
  19. So, I finally got the gold paint that's been such a struggle to find... To see how it's gonna look, I painted the chassis.... With the gold as a highlight on the body, I think it's gonna turn out okay...
  20. Bill, I like how this one looks........ It even looks good in blue.
  21. Obscure one for you, Gabby LaLa..... Les Claypool produced this album for her, and even plays percussion and bass on it. She was a member of his 'Fancy Band".....
  22. I'm REALLY diggin' this.... and this thread.
