Thank you, Anton........ I have test fitted the body on what I have done so far, it seems to not be much of a problem..... We'll see once the interior goes together.

Here's some more progress on the chassis..... The suspension bits are pretty tricky! I guess that's the way with a reasonably accurate kit. There's a couple hoses to add, and the interior, then I can begin working on the body parts..... I did lose an exhaust collector, gonna have to figure out how to add that back in....... Thanks for looking, and feel free to comment!

That's a really nice job with a kit that kinda lacks in a lot of areas....... I especially like the interior.

That looks really good! Good luck at the show........

"Linus and Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi........ in fact all the Charlie Brown music was good!

Iggy Pop IS a legend! He's done a lot of stuff..... He did the voice-over lead in on the track "Black Sunshine" by White Zombie. -
I remember that build! You put a lot of work into it......
-
Thank you, Carl... It has just enough of a sheen not to be completely flat. Plus it can stand up to being handled......
-
You did a lot of the prep work, though, didn't you? That is really what makes a good paint job, is the prep work.....

It's been too windy to paint anything that needs to be 'pretty', so I sprayed the primer that will be the interior color on it's parts. It's just Rustoleum 2X primer. There is still some parts and detail painting to do, but you get the idea....... I can't install the interior until pretty much last thing on the chassis, so it's just mocked up here....... That's it for now! Please feel free to comment....

Bill, your illustrations reminded me of this song.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gm2KYEyK42g "Too damm bad that at the end of the line, you got no idea what's on your own mind........." Henry Rollins!

Cool! Reference pics.... Thanks, Jim! That looks really good..... In some ways this kit is better than the Revell.

The next few steps for the chassis are done..... Next up is the front suspension and then installing the engine. The front radiator support isn't glued in place, it's just sandwiched between the front frame rails. This will allow me to adjust it's location when I add the wheel houses/inner fenders..........

70s cars as they really were!
JollySipper replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I was a car crazy youth in the mid 1980s (I was still a kid)... The style then was nose-up, tail-down, with usually Centerline polished deep dish wheels. It was usually something like a Monte Carlo or Regal. Nothing muscle, more "cruisers". That's the style I remember the most fondest, and would drive something sat up like that today..... That fad stuck around until the mid '90s, at least. -

Cake is kinda kooky, man.... just like me......... -
I was hoping you would, Carl man! You're my friend...... Thanks for the replies, guys....

Hey, Fellas.... Thought I would show the progress on my latest project! It's the Viper GTS from AMT.... I got it in a trade with a really cool guy on here. In some ways this kit seems a little better than the Revell kit. The only thing lacking on this kit is the wheels and tires. The rims look too small and the tires have too much sidewall. I'll most likely try to source another set of wheels somehow..... The idea behind this build is a used viper that had been gutted and turned into a track car. Here's the engine! I need to go over the manifolds again with another wash, it looks like..... Here's the start on the chassis. The floors and all will be painted white to kinda represent bare metal. It was kind of nerve wracking gluing those black painted suspension parts on to the white chassis, using orange tube glue! I'm thinking maybe a dark red color for the main body parts, not sure yet..... This is where I'm at with this. Please feel free to comment, and thanks for looking.....

Cale, that looks Super good! Nice and slick........... What brand HVLP gun are you using?

It's a very cool car to have gotten! If I'm not mistaken, these have dual rear shocks and 4 wheel disc brakes. Also, the 8.8 rear! When the turbocoupe was first debuted (in 1983) they raced one against a contemporary BMW on Laguna Seca......... The Bimmer could barely keep up. -

That's a really nice car! Is it a manual or automatic? -
I really like the "I Robot" album from Alan Parsons! The song 'I wouldn't want to be like you' is from the viewpoint of a robot..... The whole album is based on that concept.....

Here's another one I enjoy a lot. Loverboy's "Turn Me Loose"....... There's a bunch of really good guitar in this one!

I like to think of the Cardigans as an "ironic" Abba....... They're even both from Sweden. The Cardigans have done a couple of Black Sabbath covers! Iron Man, and sounding really good in Ms. Persson's coo'ing, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath!
