Which album is that, JC man? I don't recognize the cover....... Have you got the Jethro Tull acoustic album? It has all of their more "unplugged" sounding songs...... Fat Man, Life's a Long Song, etc.....

Just painted this today.... It's the DupliColor wheel paint that I used on the '32 5 Window with their 1K clear. I think it looks so much better on this!

I read once that Mercedes used to run their cars on a test track before they committed to producing any of their models..... One part of the test course was a completely vertical banked curve that the car had to go up on and follow without the drivers hands on the wheel. I thought that pretty interesting..... Do any of the major manufacturers still do those kinds of tests?

What did you see on the road today?

Is that a Dodge? LoL..... -

Thanks for the replies, Fellas..... I used to love going to the GoodWill in Wilmington, NC. It's a college town (city), so they had a bunch of cool T shirts that you couldn't find elsewhere. Also, the pawn shops there usually had really good second hand CDs that were popular with the college kids.......

It's come time to update some items in my wardrobe....... Shoes, and I need a new belt. Looking at these items online can be both overwhelming and frustrating! I have been wearing the same brand of shoes for years (Skechers Sport), but that only narrows down the selection a little. I do think I have a pair picked out, though.... Picking a belt isn't being very easy. You've got all these materials, double prong buckles, ratcheting types..... I just need a belt! Beltox Fine looks to make a good one. Maybe I'll go with one of theirs....... and How do you size a belt? Do you go by your waist size, or the length you need it to be total? Anyone else dislike shopping for clothing articles? Do any of you just let the Missus pick stuff out for you?

I'm really liking the roadster, Bernard! Has an 'East Coast' vibe to it.......

This looks really nice! I especially like how realistic the dash looks......

Thanks a bunch, there Bruce man! and thank you, Trevor! I guess I should tell about the paint........ I just primed with DupliColor filler primer, a coat of Rustoleum gold, three coats of DupliColor Cordova Brown, then two clear coats. The Rustoleum worked really well under the brown!

Thank you, Carl man....... It really is a very well detailed kit! The engine has to be one of the best FE engines out there.....

A member called rightrudder and I both did WIPs, but he did a better job illustrating what was wrong and how to go about fixing it..... Here's a link to his build....

Thanks, fellas! Now, on to the Impala that I have started........
-
I'm pretty much done with this one, guys! There's some details left to fix under the hood, and I had fish eyes in the headrest so they will be added later. Also I need to find some better wipers, the ones in the kit are not the greatest. Those who have built this kit know of the fitment issues.... seems every part needs to be worked to fit. Thanks to those who followed the WIP..... Please feel free to comment!

and Thank You, Chris....... Would trade with you anytime!

It would be cool if we could get this topic pinned! Here's a final ride height mock up of a '67 Impala. I'll be using these wheels from the '62 T Bird........ -

Bullet Bird Mild Custom ('62 Thunderbird)
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thank you Douglas! Yea, all I've done so far has been cut on the sheet. I use a single blade and just move the ruler over as wide as the trim is.... Something funny? We've both had T Bird projects going, and you said you've an Impala to do..... I also will be building an Impala next! A '67....... -

I've been working on the foil for this...... I wanted to show you guys a tip on doing long straight pieces of the trim. What I do is cut the foil on the paper the width of the trim with a straight edge. You want it a little long so you can handle the ends.... Then apply to the body. There's no way I could cut such a straight line on the body! I never had luck trimming on the body, so I had to adapt. So that's what I'm working on right now! Please feel free to comment......... -

Those look "wheel" good! -
I think the trick with this puppy will be to not let her get riled up to where she's wanting to bite..... I played with her this morning and just didn't play very rough, kinda kept it low key. She was fine with that! Correcting her with a stern voice makes her pause, but her attention span is still a little short......
