  1. and If you're better than them at something, they won't let you do it....... I am/was a house painter (no, I don't drink....) by trade. My cousin runs a little painting business. The guys that help him aren't the greatest. When they saw that I could paint quarter-round shoe molding without getting any on the floor, they flat out refused to let me work!
  2. Some 'soft rock' is just prog rock in disguise......... Alan Parsons Project, 10cc, it's what the progressive rock turned into...
  3. Oh, Lord........ You guys wouldn't believe some of the stuff I've seen from backyard mechanics........ I've seen welds like the ones pictured called "Gorilla Welds", as in Big, Ugly, but Strooooong! More like Inept, Stupid, and Wrooooong!
  4. Yea, you'll need to cover the floor stampings somehow...... Thanks!
  5. I'm the biggest Steely Dan fan, man..... I've never heard of this album! Does anyone cover "Do It Again"? Gonna need to check it out........
  6. Carpet is all done........ Now to just build up the interior!
  7. You must use that to help you sleep! I listen to all kinds of stuff, from Afro Pop World music to free form Improv Jam/Jazz........ Napster has all that stuff.... I'm talking with a guy that I got my current computer from, He's gonna work out a deal for me. I'm not looking forward to switching everything over to a new unit, though!
  8. I usually don't have much to gripe about, but......... My preferred music streaming service (Napster) has changed hands. The new owners have "improved" the site to make it more phone friendly. I can't even access the site anymore from my Win7 desktop. I'm gonna have to upgrade to a Win10 unit....... High time I do that anyway! I'm hoping that Napster is just being glitchy, but I doubt it.........
  9. Thank You, Fellas! Right now I'm working on making some carpet........ The material is from a large felt mat that you roll a puzzle up in.
  10. I've been making a bit of progress with the interior! The dash isn't completed yet, but you get the idea..... I'm toying with the idea of making the carpet out of some material I have here..... We'll see how that goes.
  11. That's really good! It even looks like Michael Keaton......
  12. The BMW is double parked.......... Typical......
  13. Let's hope this is NOT what you're supposed to do with the stuff in Snake's sign!
  14. These are all really good....... I especially like the BeetleJuice! I was not aware that there was a kit of him.... What scale would that one be?
  15. The kit still had the Ford engine in it, if I remember right. I don't recall what engine the Coyote X had, but I do remember an "experimental gearbox"......
  16. Yes, they did! The Coyote kit isn't the greatest, though....... Not sure about the pickup........
  17. Thank you, Anton! It should look right handsome with the black interior trim......
  18. As a kid I got to watch a lot of those old shows..... The old man enjoyed them. The one I always looked forward to watching was Hardcastle and McCormick! THE BEST looking hero car ever, in any series.......
  19. Up next in the build sequence is the interior....... I'm needing to order myself some flocking for the carpet, but I've done a little to the seats. This is a primer color with a coat of clear. I wanted a gray interior, so after fixing the seams in the front seats I put two coats of the primer. After that dried, I scrubbed them with Comet and a toothbrush (which has more uses than you would think!) to sand them smooth....... Then I just put one coat of Perfect Match clear. I hope it looks a bit like gray leather!
  20. I seem to remember he had to modify an existing kit piece into what he was needing..... I might end up doing something similar, or I could always LS swap it! It's gonna be a custom anyways.....
  21. I was kinda wondering about that one, it being the 'Rocket' engine, and the custom '50 would have the automatic transmission.......
  22. Thanks, Bill man.... That helps a bunch! and If I get the custom Pontiac kit, I'll have a cool button-tuck interior and such kustom stuff..... So which engine would be best suited for the build? Would the 421 be pretty close?
  23. I just saw where the '61 Oldsmobile Super 88 from Jimmy Flintstone has became available again. I really want to get one this time around! I have a quick question, though...... I have a '61 Impala that has fallen to disrepair that I want to use the chassis from. Would this be an ideal chassis for this project? It looks like the glass may even be the same between the two cars? Also, if I wanted to add an engine, what engine would be the one to use? Has anyone built one of these? If so, please share!
  24. I wanted to show you guys what I'm doing to the glass.... They designed the kit to have ~200 parts or more, but the glass is all one piece! I wanted the door glasses opened so the interior could be seen better. Just using my scriber to work most of the way thru, then finishing with a PE saw blade... There is a definite groove around the opening, so I just followed that.....
  25. So as not to get too bogged down with all the small detail parts, I'm calling the chassis done...... I don't want to get burned out and start losing interest before I'm halfway done! Anyway, here's the 'finished' chassis.... I can always come back later and add the rest....
