  1. A little progress, the engine complete adding fine tubing as plug leads and 'bluing' the exhaust manifold to show heat from engine. Also added engine to floorpan and small interior items, seats, seatbelt decals (used my own as kit ones are black and wouldn't be seen ) plus handbrake, gear stick fire extinguishers and pedals. Instructions suggest these are to be fitted after the rollcage which is the wrong way round.
  2. Cheers Dann. I'm trying to sort out the rear suspension, the axle they supply is too short, the upright on one side is completely vertical but the otherside wants to be upright but at 45 degrees! The problem is that both front and back suspension and steering are very thin and flimsy with poor locations. EG pins and holes on the instructions but not on the parts and excessive chrome plating, in fact I'v had to dip all plating in oven cleaner and take it off due to difficulty removing plating from very small contact points.
  3. Thanks guys. The prices here for kits like this are pretty high, import is about $28+ plus the price of the kit itself!
  4. The kit.................... The build starts....................
  5. Thanks guys.
  6. I bought this..... But resurrected the decals from the ESCI 1992 Ford Escort MK2 'Clear' bodied kit..... And so far.............................
  7. Cheers Dann.
  8. Thanks Jim B. Yes as a 1/72 scale the wing length is longer that some of my 1/48 scale planes!
  9. Yes cobraman, but I haven't mastered that type of dio as yet.
  10. Initially a postal service with just 4 seats and pilot and co- pilot, 1920 era. The decals are not very transparent having a greyish background.
  11. Thanks for your info David. I started out as an accounting clerk in a small practice. That was difficult as father and brother were engineers. Went onto the original TSB Bank and made it up to Branch Manager and made redundant after 24 years (at 42)when Lloyds Bank took over all managers and assistant managers had to go (1500+). Had four more permanent and numerous Temp Jobs, as a 42 year old is too old for any job as I was constantly told. 3 more redundancies later joined the Open University as a warehouseman driving vans to and from the Campus, fork-lifts and pickers up to 35 feet! Thats where I finished at 64. Now hoping to downsize housewise as both sons have gone, one to Canada and one nearby in Milton Keynes. So looking to design and build a two bed bungalow (future proofing) in a timber frame construction utilising SIPS panels and under floor heating, no internal ceilings, all rooms open to the pitched roof, open plan lounge/diner/kitchen, master bedroom with en-suite,family bathroom, heat source pump, and solar panels to cover all energy needs! One big problem the price of land maybe twice the price of the build, but we battle on!
  12. Superb Martin, the concept fits together well!
  13. Well David, the question is 'What is retirement age' nowadays. I had to retire from work at 64 after an accident at work, that wasn't recognised by my management, and of course not witnessed! We had various safety issues over about 3 years due to our union rep and our health and safety rep being buddies nothing changed! My remote (based at another site) director, went potty, as there were certain jobs that only I was happy to do in our 12 person unit, but due to my injury, I wasn't able to continue (Walk). Funny really that 12 months beforehand 6 out of our 12 volunteered to a company wide redundancy call but none in our section were allowed to go. So I built a log cabin in the back garden £2k and have been out there ever since!
  14. Cheers Bob. Ken Block the owner of DC Shoes is the HOONIGAN. The man who sends out these various videos driving high powered loony cars (Mustangs, Escorts etc) calling them Gymkana's, round and through warehouses, aircraft hangers, across San Francisco bridge et al.
  15. Thanks beeRS, I bought it off an online shop here in the UK, so I don't know who cast it.
  16. Yes David I tried that once, building two or more at a time, but got lost so reverted to one at a time. Now retired I complete one about every 10 days or so.
  17. Thanks Anders & Mike.
  18. I've used Gedeo white plaster, and have the clear here but not used it. Using plaster with their blue moulding medium has worked very well on small items, seats, bomber seats, and surfboards. I say go for it! The black seat is a kit plastic and the surfboard with the scene on is a fridge magnet. I decal print various surfboard scenes now, and just paint the seats and attach with fast acting glues.
  19. Thanks again folks.
  20. Superb, my favourite sports car.
  21. Superb! I've seen that on Star Models/R&R site. does it come with the 'glass'?
  22. Thanks guys. Well Dann I'm just copying Ken's car flagwise.
  23. Cheers Steve & Gene.
  24. Thanks Phil and JC.
