Thanks Dave, yes when you think that this was produced in 1969 a year after we got married and I've just passed the great sevenO!

I bought this on ebay UK about 6 or so months ago. The date of the kit is 1969 so the decals (although I coated them in two layers of gloss clear) would not release from the paper backing except the footprints that I've put on the roof! I have found another sheet of decals called 'Flower Power', so used those.
  3. Superb! Using so many other parts to build it was brilliant! We had so many of these on the streets when I was growing up in the late '50's and early '60's. We called them the Ford Anglia van as the car (Anglia) was very similar. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Thanks GeeBee, a car I'd seen many times on the stages driven I think by Paddy Hopkirk.
  5. Great build pauloe. It takes me back to my early days at the Silverstone Circuit just 5 miles from here, seeing these little cars buzzing round the track, especially in the Touring Car races which included the Ford Falcon and Lotus Cortina, when it was wet the Mini would beat both of those to the line every time! I see that you have a rear number plate with a 'D' suffix at the end which denotes the year of 1966.

  11. Very nice GT40! We had a classis car meeting at Silverstone Circuit about 5 miles from here a few weeks back and a yellow GT40 like the one in your photo, went past here on the road going to the circuit. Yes a road registered 1960's version!
  12. Very nice indeed, well done. We have the Prodrive factory about 20 miles from here, so have seen many on the road over the years from the first rally prototypes to the last of the factory rally cars camo'd on testing runs. The late Richard Burns didn't live far from here so saw him on his motorbike quite a few times.
  13. The only thing I miss about the older cars, is that we could work on them ourselves rather than pay £95 per hour labour costs at the dealerships!
  14. My latest Meyers Manx with Hydro-Dip paintwork...........................

Thanks guys. Further research tells me that it's also known as Swirl Painting and can use both acrylic and enamels.

Thanks guys, yes the paint came out very well for a first time go. Here's a shot of the bonnet showing the colours .........
  21. This is my eighth Manx (I wish I afford a real one!). Having seen the results of Hydro-Dip painting and researched and found the method on YouTube, I've tried it with this build. I've also used all of the covers/hoods and tops for this build that are supplied in the kit. I've also built the card diorama supplied in the kit. I've also raised the body on the chassis.
  22. My favourite......... The car I'm driving here................... On a track test.
  23. Superb finish to the 914! The Revell kit has always been very poor in production and fit. I think I have three on the shelf, two I've started and put back into the boxes, the third, a recent re-issue looks to be just as bad as the other two. I've seen the resin kit built elsewhere and it's very good but expensive. There was another one from I think a Germany based manufacturer in resin but that was I understand. to be a poor attempt and subsequently fell by the wayside. It is one of my favourite real cars and so annoying that a reasonable kit is still not available!
  24. Looking good! I like your paint mask/net! I'm building my 10th Manx I think, using a hydro-paint method for the first time!
