    Monogram Ice T.

Thanks espo. Yes the ice cubes and tongs to lift them are in the kit. The hope to move is stronger still but with Covid-19 hanging about, we lost in the UK yesterday 674 people, the lockdown, although people want to get to work is a long time away I think!

    Monogram Ice T.

Thanks guys. Yes very cool, especially whilst carrying ICE! Yes a very nice kit to build, we don't see enough of the kits similar to this in the UK, like the weird and wonderful, like ones that were released more in the 1960'sand 70's, Tom Daniels, Weird Oh's, etc. We are moving within the same town Dan. We have a 4 bedroom split level detached house and as there are only two of us now, due to our two son's leaving home, (one in Calgary!). We thought why not buy what we Brits call a 'future proof' two bedroom bungalow, just a single floor, so if either of us become infirm or otherwise called dodgy on our legs,(or in a wheelchair) we can still get around. I know we are still young and active at 72 years young, but you never know whats round the corner!
  3. A lockdown special. I don't have spraying facilities as I packed it all away as soon as we sold our house, but Covid-19 has put the actual move on hold. So built this box stock and looked up 'how to paint ice cubes' on various sites and received multiple tips. Use clear blue acrylic and clear acrylic about 50% of each, so tested it. Oh and the retractable headlights work as well! I shall buy another of these kits after moving and spray it up in multiple colours!
  4. Superb! Although we don't see much Nascar or Scooby Doo here in the UK.
  5. I'll check that out! We have a medium size Tesco here and I don't see any diecasts there at the moment. They had a few diecasts last year but not the quality of Hotwheels.
  6. We don't see many Hotwheels here because they are so expensive. There was an article in another Model magazine showing a guy in Asia and his collection of customised Hotwheels, they seem to be quite cheap in the USA but here they are about £10 each! Expensive for such a small diecast model.
  7. Yes I see the 850R race version on ebay UK on a very regular basis at over £50, nearly 3 times the price of the original kit, one that I built when they first came out! As a race/airfield marshal at Silverstone circuit I was there on the launch day.
  8. If I've got the idea right, some of my long roofs from a few years work.................some more radical than others.............
  9. Just an update on the Mysterion build, all rubbish, chassis, chrome, flimsy parts, scrapped it!
  10. Ah having Covid-19 here, I have some builders/paint sprayers face masks handy.
  11. Yes gb I use Oven Pride, and have recently run out. I've been to our one open Hardware store where we live and the name of the product has changed but as they are out of stock, he can't remember the new name. He has though advised me that a bottle of 'Household Ammonia' does the same trick. I used up the Oven Pride on the chrome sprue of a Revel Mysterion, as the chrome plating is so thick taking it off the surfaces to glue together with a file or nail sticks was near impossible!

    Meyers Manx

OOOOO Sparkly, well done it looks fabulous!
  13. Superb! I'm looking at building one of these in the next few weeks, thanks for the pics and the lowdown!
  14. Easy small kit mainly plastic moulded with PE, Resin engine and cowl and 2 Vac Formed Canopies. Firstly you will see that I don't like vac formed canopies at all as you will see from my photo's. Very difficult to trim round even with my sharpest, smallest curved scissors. Otherwise a nice kit to build. The prop/nosecone was difficult to get to fit and it's too far from the engine nacelle.
  15. It'll be good to see it anytime. Just stay safe in these uncertain times.
  16. Superb! Well I've never seen one of these before in a hot rod guise.
  17. Superb Alfa Tommo!
  18. Really, really neat!
  19. Very nice indeed!
  20. Thanks Alan, you can build it right now!
  21. Superb again Tim, flying boats, the big stuff! They must have been amazing to fly in, on vacation especially!
  22. Superb Tim, just what we need to see plenty of seaplanes!
