    Cheers Lyle.
  3. Cheers guys! I've got another one just delivered £8 post paid brand new! Now what colour next time? Oh the Revell Lightning McQueen is next!
  4. My second one of these Dave Deal creations. Bought as a glue bomb over ebay UK, with some sort of glue holding various parts together. The wheels had the axles broken after being stuck in the wheels backs and not matter how much enamel thinner was used I had to drill out the axle stubs. Seeing the original artwork from Dave on the box in yellow I chose that colour after sourcing various bits broken or missing, one of which was the aerial missing and the bendy exhaust broken (get out the candle to bend another). The aerial was made from copper wire wound round a small diameter alloy tube. Showing the difference in tyre diameters and 1/24 tyre decals at the front to 1/12 at the rear.

Thanks guys. Don thanks for your comments on the 1750 GTV, I saw racing versions of those too some years ago, when I was a race marshall at Silverstone.

On moving a few things around at home I came across Bench Racer by Andy Kellock in the June 2015 edition of Scale Auto magazine, so spurring me to do something with the Tamiya road version of this car. Box stock bar a half roll cage, doorside 'bullet' mirror, rear boot mounted fuel filler, short exhausts and decals. Adding also Tamiya Italian Red paint work and gloss white front corner as per research of these iconic racers.
  11. Superb! I saw one recently in a local filling station with an old Ferrari both on their way to Silverstone just 5 miles from here, for a classic car race meeting.
  12. Superb! I've built a couple of the 'estate' cars one as a racer, the original kit and one a mountain bike hauler for the road. I love the 'steel' wheels, where did you get them?!
  13. Great! I had two of these when they first came out, one like this and converted the second to a pickup carrying the spares!
  14. Superb looker! They race these here in the UK in various Ford only classes.
  15. We had thousands of those on the streets here in the UK in the '60's!
  16. Thanks guys. Yes Geoff it certainly is Tamiya quality!
  17. Thanks guys for your positive comments. Dan our eldest son is in Calgary!
  18. Thanks guys for your input.
  19. Thanks Bruce.
  20. Built box stock, unhappy with the exterior paint, having further problems with shaky hands/laying up masking tape. Easy build typical Tamiya workmanship in fit/assembly with superb decals.
  21. Thanks guys, it seems that the CJ is very popular!
  22. Thanks guys.
  23. This was the WRC version but I saw this........ So I bought this......... Ran off the instructions and reduced them to two sides of an A4 sheet and built this.... and on the way cast the bonnet lamps and made some from plasticard/tubing. For further projects.
  24. No Rider it is/was a plastic kit from Scale Equioment Ltd.
