    Grey Hauler

The brother of the Orange Hauler, shown last week. The grey shell came in the box with the other one, but with no bits to build into it, so to the spares boxes! I scratchbuilt the interior tub and added the seats, steering, gear changer and rear view mirror. The added the twin filler caps, windscreen, some sort of chassis and Pegasus Centrelines small out front and large out back and side exhaust. Found the rear fencing and cut it down to fit, and found a bag of moss for the garden work rubbish. And chilling with brother in the cabinet...
  2. Thanks Chris, a neat kit.
  3. Cheers Bruce, the quality of the Orange plastic moulding was so good I polished it with Micro-Gloss, which is also good to take off/out glue or scratches from clear windscreens!
  4. Thanks guys, yes it's a very nice kit!
  5. Built box stock, the kit has a date of 1990 (Second Edition) Great kit to build. I've added slash cut alloy exhaust pipes. The kit has fully working steering by the steering wheel. The only part missing was no. 49 which helped prop open the windscreen, so I cut a small piece of chrome sprue to take it's place.
  6. Thanks Bruce. No that's the standard length for this kit although there is a long wheel-base side loader version. This kit The Long Wheelbase kit...
  7. Thanks guys.
  8. Thanks David.
  9. AH lookin' good Jim!
  10. Another build from my stable of relitavely recent World Rally Cars.... One or two snags, the window glass moulding seemed to be too wide and on fitting the glazed bodyshell to the completed chassis/interior, the front windscreen cracked at 45 degrees! The second snag was that due to the kit being quite old the white decal sections are opaque and not bright white. Otherwise a well made kit and easy and ready detailed to build. I only changed one thing..the kit tyre decals are in gold lettering and although the spare in the back has one on, it can hardly be read, so I added four white Michelin decals to the road tyres.
  11. Thanks guys, well I like to build something different and being retired I can put in upwards of 4-5 hours a day 5 days a week, just like work! Well far better than any kind of work!
  12. Superb! Just superb!
  13. Bought this today via ebay UK, and there's two bodies in the box, what a bonus. I can now build two!
  14. Cheers Larry.
  15. Thanks Bo.
  16. Cheers Atin.
  17. Set up as a National Rally contender taking into consideration it's age, but still using the factory decals. The front end paintwork had to be replaced 3 times due to constant heavy orange-peel and therefore cleaning off and re-applying. In the final application, automotive primer was used to solve the problem. The rest of the body was unaffected and of high gloss finish throughout! The kit being quite old but the Airfix decal sheet and the lay-up onto the body were first class in their finish!
  18. Thanks Yordan. Oh the engine is a YAMAHA, but there's no edit on the initial post.
  19. Thanks Bruce, yes I've had the mechanics/leisure figures set for about 5 years and only just got round to using them. And yes it took a time carefully painting them!
  20. Thanks Phil. I was a race/airfield marshall at the Silverstone Circuit about 5 miles from here for nearly 25 years, so saw F1 cars pretty often, and a host of most other classes and MotoGP or 500 GP as it was with Barry Sheene etc! We've visited our eldest son a number of times in Canada both Manitoba and Alberta. But he came here with his wife at Christmas which was good.
  21. Thanks guys, yes Dann it's 1/24th.
  22. Thanks Ismael.
  23. Thanks David, yes I've had a combined mechanics and civilian figures set and had no interest in using it, but now it seems to work.
