  1. The rear section of the Lego Land Rover Discovery is done, you can see the hubs on each side for the rear wheels, now to start the front, very similar but with the steering!
  2. It's July 31 st. I opened up my PC yesterday to find that although I go through the Cache, Clearing Data and cookies, regularly Scale Auto and Finescale are not accepting my passwords again! At Finescale they tell me to change my browser, although I've used Google Chrome for years now all of my stuff is on there. Even when I do my 'Clearance' thing it knocks out my Yahoo email and my wife's GMail email which takes time re-installing and all of my other model sites have to re-installed including Fotki, I'm not liable to try another browser due to the hassle factor! Not being a geek on PC/IT stuff it's just getting hassle every day! I'll just be a guest watcher on both of them from now on!
  3. Yes David, the casting flaw is on mine as well!
  4. I've opened both boxes... The taxi has the side door open or closed, I think mine will be open. The Nascar kit is suitably detailed. The decals are in amazingly 'new' condition, so great fun there laying those up. The body colour is supposed to be Purple so a new spray can is about to land today! I'm also going to try................. If I need to lower the front as most of the NASCAR kits ride high.
  5. I'm looking forward to these decals!
  6. Thanks I will also check that out as well Pico.
  7. Thanks Pico I'll look into it.
  8. Super job! My 1:1 version was a lighter blue!
  9. Great! I built one of these last year. I had to email the supplier as the tyres were hard, (plastic?) so wouldn't fit the wheels. Didn't hear anything for 3 months! In the meantime I put some thick rubber gloves on and dropped the tyres into some hot water to soften them up and hey presto they fitted. When the spare tyres finally came they were so soft as if made of a totally different rubber!
  10. WOW! What a job your doing! Superb crafting of the bodyshell. Excuse me asking, as I've not seen it in the UK, but what is Renshape please?
  11. If it's a single windscreen, plane canopy, car headlight lens, all I do is paint round the edge of the body with a small brush and clear gloss enamel paint and carefully, with tweezers place the clear plastic onto the opening, inside or outside whichever way it should be mounted, leave overnight, the clear gloss dries gripping the clear plastic piece.
  12. Neat conversion using 850 gear!
  13. Interesting! If it was painted a sandy colour it could be the brother of the Wallace & Gromit film on the moon, the mobile cooker parked up while they were eating the cheese they sliced off the surface dunes!
  14. Great kit, next time I get one I shall paint every panel a different colour, oh mine was in bright red! Great build well done!
  15. Plenty of room in the back for groceries!
  16. Beautiful! A chap who used to bring his sons to our regional BMX racing had a safari, estate version, fantastic!
  17. Yes I had an email from Scale Auto outlining the last Scale Auto Mag would be October 2020! Also that SA stuff is being included in the Finescale Mag, but I don't want a tanks/aircraft mag! I've ordered only this week their Contest Cars Annual 2020 and paid for it, so I hope I get it! I've read various comments on other sites saying that the Finescale mag looks like disappearing soon as well! I've paid my SA Sub to December 2021! Although it was my first modelling website, I shall be sorry to see it go. But since last Sunday I've not been able to access either SA or Finescale websites, they tell me that they had an IT upgrade of their sites last weekend and I should 'clear my caches and Cookies' I answered saying that they need to tell me how as I'm not IT/PC Savvy and don't know how to do it!
  18. Really superb scratchbuilding as well. Looking forward to the end product!
  19. Very good indeed, one of my favourite kits!
  20. Thanks guys. I hope to back to modeling soon and have the spray booth ready as well. Building a Lego Land Rover Defender, should take a while, it's taken three days to build the rear transmission/suspension, roughly 60 parts!
  21. The kit..... Wanting a different finish I sourced an aftermarket set of Haribo decals. I also couldn't do any spray painting as the spray booth is not available, so left the body colour in standard grey as it comes in the kit. I have also added a few Monster and smoke camo decals! I'd seen this one on track and liked the Haribo Bear decals.......................
  22. Beautiful Michael, I remember these when I was a stage marshal!
  23. Superb Tim plenty of decals too!
