  1. Baggage handlers are the honey badgers of the airline industy, they don't care. I would expect a destroyed model from checked baggage.
  2. I just spent $56 on a kit. It was Christmas money, otherwise I wouldn't be able to afford that. I've already started on it. I took pictures of unboxing it for posterity, though. I'll also second opening sealed vintage kits. I recently got my father's stash of early 80's kits. Mostly AMT. These have been stored in the garage for, like 30 years... Half of them, had tires melted to the parts or windows. While it is certainly fixable, to a degree, I'm sure it affects any resale "value". I intended to build a few for my dad, as he is too old, and is busy with his honey do list since retiring.
  3. The car came out nice, but the lace for those curtains is way out of scale.
  4. Nice rebuild. It is very convincing.
  5. Very nice and detailed build. I have one of these in Gran Tourismo, but I've never driven it much. I love the look of vintage touring & gran prix racecars, although I don't know much about them. Cars you could actually buy, not like the homogenous racing appliances of today.
  6. This kit was given to me by a generous forum member. Unfortunately, despite being brand new, the decals were unusable, they would not seperate from the sheet, perhaps from a heavy handed printer? Also, There were no clear pieces or bushings for the wheels & axles. I'm not sure if they weren't in the box, Or I lost them. That's what multiple concussions will do to you, folks. However, I had two earlier versions of the same kit, so I was able to scavange some parts and decals. The windows were damaged and I couldn't polish them clear enough to my satisfaction, so I painted them like on my other Transformer Lamborghini, Breakdown. As If things weren't already set against me, when I cleared it with Future w/a drop of Simple Green, it dried with this weird marbleized effect. Not what I was going for, so after some clean up an vigorous plishing meant I had to touch up the black trim. After all is said and done, its not perfect, but its done. I may add some weathering, however. Some side by side shots with Breakdown:
  7. I'm liking that Chevelle. The hood is vintage 80's goodness.
  8. I'd be interested. I've got Revell and IMC Beetles that need rebuilding.
  9. That looks just like the bike from Akira withe the decals removed.
  10. Nice work! Did you use a wire nut for the air filter?

    Supra

NIce work! I drove my boss' Supra once. Even as a neglected beater, it was still awesome. I love the old Supras and Celicas.
  12. OK, now you're just showing off. The carbon fibre looks real!
  13. Excellent. The finish on all of your builds is fantastic.
  14. That's one tasty Skyline.
  15. I've only ever seen them on Top Gear. Cars like this are usually a study in R&D. Most of the technology will trickle down, eventually.
  16. Here's the Ford 2.3 SOHC engine swap in progress on my Bug. The Weber carbs are from a Tamiya Countach. . Here's the next wastelander. A rebuild of a gifted glubomb Datsun pickup gasser. I was gonna make a towtruck, but the bed is too small for the stuff I've got.
  17. I've only seen those in resin. Not sure where they came from or who made them first. There's a few other VW folks here, somone will know.
  18. Nice. I want to get one of these, but my stash is already gettign out of hand.
  19. Awesome sculpting and painting. The Rocket Girl looks like a Coop drawing come to life!
  20. Nice paint. Some guy in my town has a stock bodied Topolino. The first time I saw it on the street, I though someone was driving a legends dirt track car on the road.
  21. Nice work on the models. I've never seen that cement mixer before. I've often wondered if Tom Daniels designed cars sober, though.
  22. Nice start, Aoshima does not dissapoint. I kick myself for not gettign this from my LHS when they had it marked down to $12.
  23. Sounds like Connecticut has alot of faith in the honor system.
  24. I guess my Road Warrior Interceptor is finished.
