  1. Here's a couple that seem to be along the same lines:
  2. Hey, Bill, does your keyboard have a cold? I didn't know about the studebaker, but Ford came up with a nuclear powered concept they called....wait for it.... The Nucleon!
  3. Joe, I agree with you about Eduard. I've built the 1:48 Albatros DVa from both Revell and Eduard, and although it's actually the same mold, the Eduard kit includes a PE fret for both added detail and to correct the errors in the Revell molding. But, If your talking WWI aircraft, the hands down winner is Wing Nut Wings. Their accuracy, detail, engineering and customer support are the model that the rest of the industry should be following. On the automotive side: For European sports cars I like the Fujimi Enthusiast series. For more esoteric subjects (like the Messerschmidt KR200) it's Gunze/Sangyo High tech series. For unique, older American cars I like Moebius; their selection is limited, but the detail and engineering are top notch. This actually applies equally to Galaxie Ltd. For everything else, it comes down to who makes the subject I want to build. In fact, this is really the central question. If I had no interest in the Hudson convertible, I would never have bought a Moebius kit.
  4. I'm leaning towards Mustang II, twice removed. IE: my interpretation of an aftermarket suspension based on the Mustang II. Unfortunately, updates will be temporarily delayed. Previously I mentioned that I could use two more hands; Well, now I find I am in need of three, as one of my originals has been rendered temporarily inoperative. ...There's a reason they call them razor saws!
  5. I don't know what it is, but I really dig hearses. Probably some childhood trauma . That, or meeting the Hearse Girls . Whatever it is, youve piqued my interest here. It doesn't hurt that your build looks very cool on its own merits.
  6. Very cool! I love the old lakesters. Ive got a few inspirational pic's in my archives if you're interested.
  7. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Richard. I can see you have quite a few tallents, and that combined with creativity and a strong work ethic has yielded some impresive results. I especialy like the Japanese style garden; it looks very restful.
  8. Very nice work on both the paint and engine. I think this might be the first one of these that I've seen with the plug wires properly routed under the retainers on the valve covers. Nice work. And, by the way, I love the color combo.
  9. I know I promised an update today, but I'm struggling with getting all the measurements for the 4-link just right. If I just had two more hands, it would be a snap . Thanks, Jason. I'm sort of aproaching this whole project that way....a magnum opus, in a way.
  10. Hah, who needs hair, anyway. It's results that count and so far you've delivered.
  11. It shows! Of course, you sort of cheated: Put a 409 in anything and it's automaticaly cool. Seriously though, the finish, inside and out, looks great. Nice work!
  12. That is just gorgeous. The finish and detail showcase your craftsmanship, sir. One caveat, however; this is a family oriented sight, and half your pictures show her naked! (Not that I'm complaining )
  13. That motor looks awesome. Where do you get your braided lines from?
  14. Holly smokes! I never thought I'd see a model of this - one of my all time favorite one-offs. You have captured every sensuous curve of the original perfectly. I have a ton of questions, but I'm going to back up and check out the W.I.P. first to see if the answers are to be found there. Thank you for building this, oh, and thank you for not billing it as "the buick streamliner"
  15. Yeah. Looks like it would be pretty easy to mask, except for the landau irons. Maybe some liquid mask for those.
  16. Fantasticaly original and well executed. I've got a photo' file full of grafiti, and I never thought of doing this. Bravo on a real eye-catcher!
  17. Cut down the shine on the vinyl roof, and I think it'll look just fine.
  18. Excellent build. I'd say the emphasis is on the "art" in artistic license.
  19. Exactly what I was thinking. This is a very well thought out and well executed custom. The color combo really suits it.
  20. This is nice. Paint combo, finish, BMF and details. I love everything about it except the exessive camber in the rear. but that's just me. Nice job!
  21. This is looking great, Bernard. I like that you've started out with a well defined styling plan. Every thing you've done really suits your stated pupose.
  22. Sounds like you've been having fun, Richard. Why not post some photos of your remodel, so we can at least see what's been keeping you from providing more eye-candy.
  23. I agree that the Cragers look good, but I think you're going to have to give up on the sleeper look. This thing just looks way to serious with all that meat in the rear.
  24. Nice Charger! Your interior work is etxraordinary. What luck to find a thread that matches your paint color so perfectly. I have this kit in my stash, for a special project. Are there any issues with it? Judging from your build, it doesn't look like there are. I had an idea regarding your thread piping technique. I think that if you were to dip the end of the thread in CA, then trim off the bulk of the glue onc set, this should elliminate the fraying problem.
  25. I love the concept drawing. Is this your work? The coilovers look great. One of these days I'm going to have to step up to the plate and make my own, instead of just buying them from RB Motion. The RBM units look great, but I want bragging rights . Are yours functional, or set at a fixed length?
