  1. Marc..its hard to believe you built that Cuda 6 years ago!! I followed that build pretty close.
  2. We in Vegas have had more rain this year in 2010, then we had in the entire 2009 year!! Its that wonderful El Nino!! somebody should slap that kid!!
  3. I worked timing and scoring for several Silver State Classic races. I was headed to my location about halfway to set up my timing equipment about 6am in my modded 1997 Z28 with the T56 six speed. Now, at this time the Nevada Highway Patrol has already closed the roads and they are empty. I went 160 mph on the speedo, 145 GPS verified for atleast 25 miles. The best part was driving past 3 different sheriff's cars that were parked where the lifeflight helicopter was based, and they just waved.
  4. Thats the original Monogram '69 Camaro kit from the late 70's/early 80's. The body is badly out of proportion, but the kit comes with good drag parts including turbo set-up and the mismatched wheels.
  5. LOL...my newest model kit purchases from the last few months havent even left the trunk of my car. The wife doesnt even ride in my car, let alone look in it. I picked up the new Round2 Daisy Duke RoadRunner today, I like this kit and having the correct decals and dash is an added plus. Also put a new Revell '57 Chevy on hold that I'll pick up this weekend. still waiting for my LHS to get a DD tin, so I can get one.
  6. The Vietnam was episode was great. Considering the U.S. history with that country, it was interesting to see how it is today
  7. Jeff, that will change when you get older, trust me!!! I'm 6'1" and was 155#'s for over ten years, just in the last few years, I've increased to 190. Old age will eventually slow your metabolism.......that and marriage!!
  8. This is the exact reason I bought Jimmy Flintstone bodies for my first resin conversions. They are not that expensive, so if I screw them up, they are easy to replace.
  9. LDO, I got that covered too. If I cant get into the Engineering or Intel jobs I want, I'm looking at getting involved with either the MLRS or HIMARS artillery systems. They just look like so much fun!! I thought about overseas too, and would eventually like to go, but if I can, I want to stay CONUS for my first hitch. I figure the kids will be older by then, and it wont be such a difficult move when they are older. and I would want Germany if at all possible.
  10. CAL, change Colorado to Nevada, and you took the words right out of my mouth!!!
  11. I have been an auto body estimator for over 10 years, and the insurance companies are killing the industry. and quite honestly, I'm burnt out. Done. and I might be coming to Oklahoma anyways.. Ft. Sill is where my advanced training would be for several of the job's im interested in.
  12. Spoke to a few friends here locally and my wife/parents and I decided it was time to do it. I decided that I'm not getting any younger (I'm 32, 33 next month), and its time to make a definitive and positive change in my life. It's time to contribute and do something with my life that means something. I also am in a dying industry (auto body) and want to go to college, and this is the only way I can afford to do so, but this is not my primary reason for joining. I have dropped off the preliminary enlistment packet with my recruiter, and I am currently studying for my ASVAB. Its amazing how much math you can forget when you dont use it once you leave high school. Luckily I have a friend who is a math wiz and has been tutoring me. I have started working out daily to get myself in better shape, but unfortunetley, I was a bit overzealous and sprained both my knees. Happily, they are healing just fine, and after a week and half I am walking normal now. I'm going to wait another week, and then hire a personal trainer thru my Housing Development clubhouse, so that I can get on a training regiment to be in shape before I leave. I have also quit smoking (been smoke free for over a week now) using Chantix, and I can already feel the difference in my lungs. I have just the ASVAB and physical to complete and I'll be off to basic (probably in a few months).... I'm looking at MOS's in either engineering or Intel, depending on what I qualify for. I'll keep everyone updated..
  13. I dont know who Red Green is, nor do I care..... does this meen I dont have to be Canadian?!?!?
  14. Ray, where did you get the C&R decals?? otherwise, I'd swear I'm looking at one of David's builds!! nice job!!!
  15. any chance for pics of the rest of the trees and tires??
  16. Farmboy, the original 1980 release of that kit has the correct "turbine" style wheels you need. It should have a yellow build up on the box art. I used to have both the aforementioned kit, so I know there in there, plus I have had 2 diferent 79 Z28's, its such a fun car!!!
  17. this is pretty cool Simon, I never knew that kit existed. I'll be watching this to see if I should pick one up for myself.
  18. I'd be interested, I hate robbing kits for engines, and then having a bunch of incomplete kits
  19. Looks Beautimous MArc!!! not a big fan of that bodystyle, but your making it look good!!
  20. Jim, I'm right here with you buddy!!!! I'm 32 and have smoked for 14 years and I decided last month that I want to join the Army(thats a whole 'nother subject). Unfortunetley, with my smoking, my lungs are not in as good of shape as they need to be for the running I have to do, so I decided to quit as well. I started Chantix this morning, and I can already tell a difference as my cravings (especially after eating) are less than they were before. You are supposed to stop smoking completely a week after starting Chantix and continue taking the pills for 2 months. SO far, I believe that The Chantix will help me achieve my goal. I wish you all the luck in the world.
  21. one word = FUGLY...
  22. I started watching it again last year after getting digitial cable with BBC america, and have gotten my dad, mom and 9 yr old daughter watching it now. Its a great show, and I couldnt agree more that the Clarkson, Hammond and Captain Slow just click together more than any other show presenters do. I do agree that they need to test more "normal" cars, but watching reruns on DVR on sundays is a highlight of my week and my dad and I will wait so we can sit and watch them together. I also love the fact that they can get away with more then they could if they were on American network TV.
  23. Lownslow, I've built that Rx-7, be care full with the bumper ends, they dont fit that great. It's also an old motorized kit, so the interior sucks. I blacked out the windows and built it as slammer.
  24. gee, ya think he's an Olds fan!?
