  1. Wow, great build! I got to see a Cheetah just eat the Cobra's up at a road race at Candlestick park in the mid to late sixties.Your car brought back some great memories. Thanks
  2. My favorites are the black '32 three window. and the '40 ford sedan with the soft rubber tires.
  3. Has this kit been released yet? My LHS doesn't have it yet.
  4. i had a cousin that had a '59 turnpike cruiser, with 26 inch glass packs. What a rap it had!! This was in '62 when I was a freshman in high school.
  5. Dawn Disolver works great also.I use both and when one doesn't cut it, i put it in the other.
  6. I still have a '59 ElCamino that I started about 18 years ago. I got as far as painting it candy red, then moved to another state and never dug it out again. Yours has given me the hot nuts to finish it. thanks for the inspiration.
  7. Finally, someone knows what a real bobber is.i would have made a set of fat bob tanks, but that is just me.Great looking so far.
  8. All automotive lacquer has been acrylic lacquer since the early sixties. Before that, nitrocellulose lacquer was used, but was very hard and prone to chipping and cracking.
  9. I'd like to see a '46-48 Plymouth coupe and two door sedan.A'57 Olds would be great too.
  10. I would gusset both the top and bottom of the z. Then again, I have a tendency to over build stuff. Just my two sheckles
  11. I put three or four coats of color, and if it has any dirt or other imperfections, then I nib sand it. Nib sanding is a light sanding of the color coat. If you are using a metallic color, do not sand the last coat, as the sand scratches will show through after clearing. Hope this helps.
  12. I just got the '62 Corvette"60's sizzle kit at Wally World. Crappy kit. Some parts have 1/8 inch flash on them. It does have a nice chrome blower in it though. The headlights are extremely small.I don't recommend anyone buying this kit if there is an alternaitve.
  13. Dude, you need spell check really, really bad!
  14. I'd like to see more pages, and more how to articles, especially on detailing.
  15. I just read your other post. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks
  16. Chris, how do we order from you?. Do you have a website or address?,
  17. Not only do i keep my respirator in the plastic bag, i keep it in a one gallon paint can. Double protection against leaks.
  18. This is perfect period custom. The side trim is true inspiration!
  19. The '57 gasser is my favorite. I've got one in the works, and a two door sedan in the garage.
  20. I think you meant 312 y block. the y block was made in 272, 292 and 312 cubic inches.
  21. I saw one of these at Wally World. guess I'll have to go back and get it.
  22. I think you should make a hearse out of it with miniature casket and flower vase.
  23. Thanks for the website link. Much appreciated.
  24. That thing just cries for a Duvall style windshield frame. How bout a modified Ala Kart grille shell?
  25. I went to Big Lots today, not really expecting to find anything. To my surprise, they had about 15 kits. I scored a '63 ford advanced customizing kit, and an '05 Chrysler 300. they also had a '66 (?) cougar kit, a bunch of '70 monte carlo kits, and a couple '74 dusters. The cashier said they usually get a bunch of kitd during the holidays. So, I'll be checking about once a week. The kits were five bucks each.
