  2. Hey guys, taking a break. Should be back in January 2025. Site is still open to view, but orders cannot be placed. Orders placed before this pause in operation will be fulfilled shortly. Thank you... Robert Bentley
  3. It never ceases to amaze me...
  4. Still just a little hangy. I have to wonder what is gained by these -------- constantly messing with things everywhere online. It's not like there's anything of financial value to steal from this site...
  5. Just catching up with this one, nice work, and terrific color.
  6. Career choices based on interests and aptitude make for more pleasant and satisfying lives.
  7. Hands perpetually in one's own pockets can indicate a lack of self-confidence, while hands perpetually in someone else's indicate you're either a pickpocket or a politician.
  8. RB Motion... https://www.rbmotion.shop/shop?Category=Rod%20Ends
  9. 10:00 PM EDT Wednesday Aug. 7, 2024 Starting to occasionally get the circle of death again, unresponsive when changing topics or trying to look at notifications, mostly when not logged in or shortly after login.
  10. Not much size selection, but... https://www.tedsmodelingmarketplace.com/rod-ends-link-heim-kit-1-16/ EDIT: possibly 3D printable options?
  11. Yeah, but "whirr whirr" (and silence when it's not moving) doesn't seem as much fun as "vroom vroom". And I want to hear a cam-lopey idle, even if it's just in my 8-year-old's imagination.
  12. Yup, and a "pancake style" insert would have been just fine with me...just so I could pose the factory mess next to the way I'm going to build it, with a smallblock Ford V8, and underpinnings from the Revell old Bronco kit.
  13. Your pro firefighter fans were probably considerably larger than the ones I use. However, I've been using an industrial fan (only 3' diameter, but moves a LOT of air and used to be in the wall of my fiberglass shop) to pull air through the house for over 15 years, in the last, much larger place too. I've tried it PUSHING into the house, and all it does is cool the one room. It also seems to add heat to the incoming air, which it would, as it's adding energy. Setting it up to PULL, with downstream windows open, it'll cool the entire house easily, in a relatively short time. EXAMPLE: It got up to 98 here today, and when I got in, the house was around 92. The outdoor temp has now dropped to 88, I've had the suck-fan running for about a 1/2 hour, and every room is down to 88 now. It'll be down to whatever the outdoor temp is by midnight when I hit the sheets, and I can sleep comfortably if it's low-80s and low humidity. I've been living without AC for all of those 15 years, in the hot-humid Southeast, as the summer AC bill at the last place was running $600/month. Nope. Not arguing, just passing along what I've experimented with, and what works for me.
  14. Here's another thought. If a model has no engine, I can't really justify going "vroom vroom". It may as well be a Tesla.
  15. History has a handy way of pointing out unpleasant realities that will bite people who don't learn from it.
  16. Photograph a massive backside with something o-so-clever tattooed on it, or smeared in some disgusting bodily fluid, call it "Great Art", and you can't go wrong in today's art market.
  17. 103F in the corner of the shop I'm finishing my part of the '66 Chevelle in. No windows, no ventilation, just my own fans to move the hot air around. Said to H. with it at 3PM, went for a 2.5 mile hike. Only 98 in the sun, 94 in the shade. Pain in my hip joints subsided after 20 minutes with no pain killer. Drank a quart canteen of water, it was just barely enough, got a mess of vitamin D, kinda stiff right now but healthier than when I started. And boy, do I STINK. EDIT: Good thing I fixed my shower water heater.
  18. For me, if a 1/25 scale or larger car model doesn't have a reasonable representation of the greasy bits, it's only half a model. I was quite disappointed that the Revell (dumbguy edit) AMT new Bronco, while providing an opening hood, has nothing under it. I've been known to build some original-design "curbsides" or "slammers" as styling models only, but part of the challenge of designing a vehicle is the combination of function and aesthetics, engineering and art. One without the other, as far as machines go, is, to me, missing the point entirely.
  19. Sorry...missed the "T". Now I see it.
  20. Same reason all people have brains but most people don't use them?
  21. I currently have 26 items coming from all over the country, all scheduled for delivery this week. We'll see... EDIT: The shipment that diverted to Arizona on its way from North Carolina to Georgia did finally arrive here, so there's that...
  22. Cool stuff. I particularly like the '63 "Belmon" (?), and might borrow some of your styling elements to do an actual build...if you have no objection. The Mercury-like reverse slant of the rear window, the matching angle of the upswept tail, the long sweeping side spear, and the later-model or Chrysler Corp.-style windshield combine well.
  23. "Injuns" is a word that can get you disciplined on some sites.
