  1. Claiming to be from docusign and saying an unauthorized withdrawal of 400 odd dollars was made from a PayPal account. Do NOT click any of the links, download the app, or directly access the site. It's an obvious fake and I've already forwarded it to PayPal's actual "spoof" team. To verify it's a fake, simply log in to your PayPal account directly (NOT FROM THE EMAIL LINK) and look at your activity.
  2. There is a problem inherent in trying to polish kit chrome. Most of it is so thin that you run the very real risk of rubbing through it before you bring the gloss back. AND...often times, what looks like oxidized chrome at first glance is in actuality chrome that's so thin, you're seeing the base plastic through it, especially on vintage kits. Proceed with care. Toothpaste is a very mild abrasive, probably safer to use on chrome than more aggressive polishes made for paint. EDIT: Here's a little more info on deteriorating kit chrome...
  3. "Fixed" cats and dogs are actually intentionally broken so they no longer work as-designed.
  4. Think about how your actions may affect the people you say you care about before you do them.
  5. Tonight it's going to be 28 here, so I need to go out and get water for coffee tomorrow morning in case the tap freezes.
  6. "Money for old rope" is a phrase we don't hear much anymore, especially on this side of the Atlantic.
  7. Juliet Prowse had perfect dancer's legs.
  8. A friend gave me some elk meat, so I made a pot of elk chili to see me through the next few cold days. It's great for breakfast too, over a warm tortilla, topped with a fried egg.
  9. Persist is pretty much the opposite of desist.
  10. Or no math at all, AKA the Palmer method.
  11. And...much as I used to despise fake wood and wire wheel-covers on wagons, these days I kinda miss 'em. .
  12. Yup, the big Lincoln Mark looked great as a fake convertible. But how much cooler would it be as a real convertible?
  13. That's pretty funny. I honestly still think "underglow" is a dumb idea. And I think it looks pretty cool if it's done well.
  14. This kind of garbaaage is SOP everywhere today: bloated middle-management more concerned with avoiding action that could potentially have blowback, and backside-covering and blame-spreading taking precedence over anything else. Not exactly the same, but close parallels. Take car body design for example. Rather than having one gifted designer do an entire concept layout, and a few skilled underlings doing the donkey work of finessing the details and ensuring the thing can be manufactured as envisioned at a reasonable cost, most designs appear to be the result of a multitude of C students working as a committee where everybody gets to put a line or squiggle on the piece. Ooooooh coos the HR department. TEAMWORK!!! The inevitable result is a bunch of cars from different makers that all look remarkably alike overall, with very few of them having any sort of visual coherence or sculptural integrity. Like it or not (I do; it's a real head turner in person), this is one of the current few that looks like everyone involved was working on the same car, they had one boss, and they weren't afraid to try something different.
  15. That is a really good question.
  16. Just say it was an early '59 using up the end of the 392s. The 413's a great engine, but the Firepower hemi looks so much cooler... EDIT: Unless you have the cross-ram setup on the wedge... Boy...this went off the rails quick, didn't it?
  17. First off, a DeSoto engine, though indeed a Mopar Hemi, is an entirely different engine from the Chrysler Firepower hemi that belongs in an Imperial. The particular version of the Firepower hemi would also most likely have valve covers that say "Imperial". There's a set out there somewhere in styrene land, according to a fairly recent thread here. AND...there's no reason you couldn't put an engine in that kit. Opening the hood isn't too difficult, and removing the molded blob from the chassis plate isn't too difficult either. Actually, it sounds like an excellent project to get your feet wet in the highly rewarding sub-hobby of never being able to leave any kit the way it came.
  18. You can always claim it's an honest mistake, like JFK's infamous "Ich bin ein Berliner", which may or may not mean "I'm a jelly donut". So the Munchkin corollary seems reasonable... EDIT: Though on further consideration, it's probably best to go with "individuals of diminutive stature". Perhaps IODS? Every group deserves an acronym, right?
  19. Just call 'em Munchkins, and if they're offended they can sue.
  20. "Delivered" is what I'm waiting for the last big order of AN plumbing bits for the '66 Chevelle project to be.
  21. RE: 3D files above, there's even a twin Potvin-style reverse-flow setup for a flathead Ford available... https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/twin-potvin-blown-reverse-flow-flathead-ford-bullys_custom_model_parts
