I know in the early days of the sport, underpowered cars use to max out the rear camber to reduce the tire contact patch. This would make the car easier to drift in a corner. Stretched tires were a means of fitting the widest offset wheels under a car without making contact to the fender. Somehow, this became a fad. Looks cartoonish to me. Thanks to everyone for the positive feedback!

My shop teacher 20+ years ago had the identical car. nicely built!

Another quick build. My son has been playing Need for Speed games lately and asked me to build him one of his favourite cars. He had complete influence on the design: only rule was that he had to pick parts and decals from my “parts box”. The Miata, extreme camber, or the exhaust is not my style, but he’s thrilled with it. He asked that the paint be white and fade to black. I added my own influence with the zebra stripes.

Thanks! Considering this kit doesn’t supply lenses for the rear lights, I’m happy with the end results

This build was a painting experiment. Based on the Aoshima kit, I set out to create a fictional Livery, based on the video game series I played when I was younger. There’s some Ken Block influence as well. I painted the Skull camo design with Vallejo white, silver, gunmetal, and metallic black acrylics using some templates I made from masking tape. The sublime green is from Splash Paint and again, made random designs from masking tape. To finish it off, I plastered the body with decals that I sourced from eBay some time ago. I experimented with clear coats and consider that a failure. Know now which brands I’ll be using moving forward. The wing is from my parts box, but the kit is otherwise box stock. This isn’t as detailed as I would normally build. Feedback is welcomed.

I agree-the color feels appropriate for this car. Thanks for the heads up on the latest release. Looks like it is still missing the bench seat and steel wheels though. Guess one could look to the aftermarket to build an accurate model.
