Built this one as a “slump buster” and box stock (aside from the BMF). This is the Monogram kit released in the early ‘80’s in “Metal Glow Blue”. My experience with Monogram from this era is synonymous with lots of injection pin markings and excessive flash. This kit was no exception and I had low expectations as result. Besides standard prep, the only modification I made was to separate the exhaust pipes from the rear axle. Mopar fans will point out the incorrect parts from the 1:1 and the incomplete decal sheet. I would have liked to see the Superbee decals for the grill and deck lid emblems. I did try to paint the emblem on the grill with a sharpened end of a toothpick. Paint, clear and engine is by Splash Paint, the chassis and interior is a combination of AlcladII, Tamiya and dollar store acrylic paints. I’m happy with the results, despite the inaccuracies. Hope you like.

Your vision does the car justice. The 1:1 were a tone of fun to drive and rivalled fuel economy of modern hybrid vehicles of today while doing it.Very nice! I haven’t seen too many of these built. Looking forward to building mine. Any tips?

My only complaint about the Aoshima kit is that it has inaccurate front fenders for the Z-Tune version, but builds a nice shelf model all the same. Nice looking build and excellent color choice.

Nice rescue - big fan of the color too

Correct or not, the color you used works well for the legend. Nicely done
