  1. Thanks very much for the nice comments guys, really appreciate it ....
  2. Great job on the Lolo ! ! Wheels look great colour coded, we need more lowriders on here ! !
  3. I've been thinking of building this for some time now, the Christine 58 Fury, but after Buddy Repperton and the gang trash it. One of my favourite films of all time it hurts to see the film car destroyed, its also hard to recreate it ! There is a build thread in the workbench, and its now parked up in its new home, an old Fujimi garage I adapted to look vaguely like the garage scene. I took these pics at the models first outing, a large car show in the UK. Thanks to those who followed the build, and enjoy the pics !
  4. Don't mean to tease here but every time I try pics of this the car it comes out orange ! ! Its complete anyway and ready for its first outing ! Lots of little details in the engine are added, along with lots of broken trim and more glass, I'm well pleased with it ! Will get some pics from the show, and include some decent pics of Christine finally finished, will add these to the showroom soon. Thanks again for comments etc along the way !
  5. Great paint, and I'm with you those wheels look fantastic, good choice ! !
  6. Thanks guys.... Pretty much finished this, been fighting me to the finish because nothing lines up with the body bent ! Was going to get pics up but photo bucket is playing up ( again! ) so I will try again soon !
  7. Thanks Mike... Latest on this is its in paint, finally ! After a primer coat, most of which I rubbed down, I've laid on 3 coats of Tamiya TS49, its quite a bright red but I wanted it slightly lighter than the interior, which was a rustoleum spray. Not sure of the name as I finished the can... Roof was painted rustoleum gloss white, should be fun now with the BMF as I can mess it up and it wont notice.... Also threw my fujimi garage together, I just made it simple and bland, and not copied from the film, as its a backdrop to the car which is the main focus ! Want this finished this week as its going on display at a large car show here in the UK ! So more soon !
  8. Thanks guys.... Yes thanks Mike, I did do this with the passenger side front wing, then thought I'd mash it and remove more trim where the worst of the dents are. I also need to add a few dents to the interior so it still fits !
  9. Great to see you back building again, amazing work as usual I look forward to more ! !
  10. Looks interesting, I like the slammed Bonneville racer pics ! Why not use a pro street chassis , if your chassis doesn't fit anyway ? Or yellow paint, moon discs and do a MOON company van ? But please, no 55 rear lights ! ! Either way good luck !
  11. Finally got to mash my 58, its hard to crunch such a beautiful car ! STILL...... at least its done, heated gently with a candle, I had to replace both window frames cos they melted ! After a quick rub down and primer it should look okay, More soon....
  12. Quick mock up, its a real squeeze fitting the body on these, beware if you build one ! The front is a little high too, once glued down it should fit better.....
  13. Still moving along, the chassis, wheels, interior bucket and engine are together, and made a start on the engine detailing, but still waiting for an aftermarket pre wired distributor. Soon be time for the body which I'm looking forward to !
  14. Wow cool paint ! ! I want a buddy called Rick Grant too.... Lol ! !
  15. Looking crazy, great work ! But wasn't you going to use a supercharger ? Thought a big V8 was on order !
  16. Love those 58 Impalas, such a beautiful car ! I like the colours you've chosen too, should look great !
  17. Edward, Dan, thanks guys, and as I said Mark I'm not going THAT detailed on the dashboard ! ! When looking up pics/videos etc to research what the car looked like smashed, I found some extended footage of Reppertons gang doing there thing ! It showed Moochie, filmed from the back seat, defecating on the dash and another gang member Richard Cherlanie (I think that's how its spelt ! ) having a wee in the petrol filler ! ! And thanks for the offer Steve but I've sorted out the rolling stock ! I thought the steel wheels would be red, but it clearly shows them a steel colour, so I did them like this ! Oh and I'm slowly starting body mods, notice the front wing trim ? More soon .... !
  18. Thanks Drake, might have to get one of these for the clean version I will be building of Christine ! But for this I'm using the kit version, with a manifold and twin carbs from the spares box. Chassis is built, but I have to find some steel wheels as the hubcaps are missing after she's attacked ! Also I'm not happy with the kits tyres and skinny whitewalls, so I'm looking to replace these too. Engines almost done, needs wiring etc but I can fit it to the chassis, then complete it ! And I've been playing around with mock ups and realised Christine is quite low when smashed up. I will be adding 4 flat tyres, but might lower the suspension a little too !? A couple of pics, and more soon........
  19. Wow I missed this one JC, incredible work so far !
  20. Coming along well, its tough getting a chop 'just right' but you nailed it ! Think I'd still add those quarter windows back in though !
  21. Thanks guys, and no problem with the hi-jackin ! If anyone else is building a 58 Plymouth its useful to know ! So basically the kits engine IS a 350 commando, but has the wrong heads, manifold, carbs and air cleaners . Also Christine's engine has chrome plated valve covers and air cleaners.
  22. Ah thanks for that Mike ! I was confused as a picture I found of Christine's smashed engine had the distributor at the front ! Oh well I'm going to change it around a bit now I think, so thanks for the heads up ! Think I might have mushed the valve covers too much too, so I'll redo those !
  23. Great work so far ! You see lots of customs built, but not too many really add to the original cars appeal. I think you've really captured a typical custom that has improved on the original cars lines, takes a lot of skill to achieve such a subtle look ! Ill be following along for sure........
  24. Thanks for replies guys ! Made a start on the kit engine, which is totally wrong ! If you've seen Mr Obsessives 58 Plymouth engine build you'll see how wrong the standard kits is. But anyway it is what it is, so I'm just using what's there, with a couple of minor changes. I found an inlet manifold and twin carbs I can use, the distributor is still at the wrong end ( should be at the back! ) but at least its a bit more like Christine's. The engine been smashed about with sledge hammers, and I'm slowly adding more bits to it to make it look half decent (hopefully !) I did chrome the valve covers, as Arnie`s were, but I'm probably leaving the air cleaners off as I cant find anything suitable to use. Here's what I've got so far........ Oh and in the pics the valve covers don't look chrome, but they are ! Its just bad reflections I think....
  25. This should be fun to see built ! Its always good to me, to see people using a bit of imagination with their builds. No disrespect to the factory stock builders on here, but its good seeing something a bit weird for a change ! !
