  2. This Is Most definately a kit car, and quite a nice one. Typically the wheel and tire combination are a dead give-away as are the external exhaust pipes on the drivers side. The same holds true for Duesenberg replicas. If you see pipes on the driver's side it ain't a real Auburn or Duesenberg. The same is not true of Cords which were V8, not straight 8 powered.
  3. There is nothing about this model that I do not like.. except you built it and not me! Great model with no apologies needed.

  6. Actually a better question is if a starter and generator would be inappropriate. It is fundamental to understand that the Model T Ford was in near constant evolution. That being understood, one could order a Model T with or without an electric starter and generator beginning in 1919, though today you will see many cars built prior to that year (including both of my 1915's) that have been retrofitted with electric starters and generators. This is not a task for the feint of heart as the engine and transmission have to come out and completely apart. In any case, your engine as it is now is a very authentic representation of an unequipped Ford engine. Adding a starter and generator along with the coil box would look good too but if this was my project I'd skip those items. Hope that long winded response helps. Eric
  7. One small detail that is missing is the Magneto Post. It is a small protruding plug above the transmission inspection cover. I'll fun out to the garage and get you a photo. This is an engine that o wish was located under the hood of my 26 Runabout project!
  8. You would know better than i. While I have owned many 60's Lincolns I have never had a 64. I like where you are going with this one and you have inspired me to get at my 61 project.
  9. I think John DeLorean would have called in Zora Arkus Duntov, who would have been up for the challenge! Great engine and I'm loving the evolution of the diorama.

  11. I am watching with interest. I have owned many 1:1 Continental Convertibles and have a goal to have models of all the 61-67 convertibles in 1:25 scale. Your 64 is looking excellent. I agree with dark green. Maybe the light jade insidd? Just a thought.

  13. Aardvark models has released a resin transkit for the Monogram Duesenberg. This is a non supercharged Rollston Torpedo Victoria. I just ordered mine. I'll let you know how it looks. Expensive at about $95 shipped, I expect it to be worth it based on Andy Martin's previous work. I'm pretty juiced about this one.

  15. I like the rear fender treatment a lot. I too have a 26 Tudor of a somewhat different flavor coming jp. My hat is off to you with this fine looking build up
  16. I have a couple tales I can tell. I had a 1966 Lincoln convertible that was pretty wonderful that I sold in a moment of weakness in order to buy a 1962 Lincoln that turned into a nightmare. Later I sold a 1926 Ford Model T Touring that I regretted selling before it was loaded into the transporter. Fortunately I was able to successfully purchase that car back. The two painful near misses were both Classics. The most recent was my failure to pull the trigger on a highly under priced 1929 Franklin 137 Sport Roadster. Worse though was my dad's inability to figure out how to drag a non running, tireless car up a steep hill. The price of the old hulk was "for free. You boys just get it our of here." The car? A 1934 Packard 12 Coupe Roadster. Oh well.

  19. The non-demountable rim is just that. The rim of the wheel does not demount from the wheel. In the case of a demo unable type wheel one can unbolt the rim (aka split rim) making for much easier tire changes.i tried to upload a photo but the message said I'm limited to 0.00 mb so I'll try in 1:1 reference photos.
  20. Maybe I have something in terms of a photo. The car is coming along better than you see here. More later with a bit of luck.
  21. Not a lot of progress this week. I went to my basement to do a little work and stepped into a 2" deep puddle of water. Finally last night I was able to get back to it and put some paint on the engine for additional details.I still have quite a lot to do under the hood of this one, wiring, coil box, fuel line and fuel shut off. Then I will start putting the car together.

  23. The tires came from the AMT 27 Touring kit.i had to do a lot to rework the wheels to make them look like non-demountable rims but I think the work is proving to be worth it. My inability to upload photos is ppuzzling me as obviously I was able to do it before and have changed nothing but I'm sure doing something wrong. I'm going to try again a little later.
  24. I think I am coming to the home stretch with this one. Unfortunately I can no longer upload photos here. No idea why. It worked before. Oh well. Trust me, it's coming along.
