  1. I have an original issue AMT hardtop,I like it overall . Cant speak about the revell kit ( dont have one ) BUT, been looking for an original issue 58 Convertible to build in case anyone has one they wish to let go of
  2. I wonder if the red 250 GTO on the trailer is the one that was stolen out of the yard about 25+ years ago in Cincinnatti Ohio.(There were dozens of antique cars in the place ,,,BUT it wasnt in the best of areas if you catch my drift )
  3. I'm normally not a dragster fan, but I've been thinking I need to build one of these kits,,,,,,,this picture just convinced me I MUST build one WOW< I like it . A LOT
  4. I've quit trying to sell at swap meets. seems like most buyers ( especially the early birds ) just want them to flip anyway I'll have sealed kits marked at $20,,,everyone wants to buy them at less than $10. or builders at $5 and they offer $2 ,,,, no thanks . I'll donate them to some kid or something 1st Last time I set up to sell I had some little girl maybe 10 or so wanted a kit I had . When she reached for her money and all she had was $5 ( it was a ten dollar kit ) I gave her the kit ( on her promise she was going to build it ) and told her to spend her money on paint or glue . Grinning from ear to ear . and walked right down the isle and did just that .
  5. I'll use flat tounge depressers with the self sticking sand paper on it. both easily cut to any size or shape I need and they're cheap I like the small bladed retractable Xacto knife / pen for bare metal foil work , I think it works better going around edges and emblems than th elarger bladed versisons Like so ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Acto-Retractable-Knife-with-Pocket-Clip-X3209-Xacto-/271969760476?hash=item3f52a934dc:g:AsMAAOSwu4BV34kQ ) Hobby Lobby carries them But,,,,,My most essential tool anymore is my lighted magnifirer
  6. Oh how I would like a fresh 61 Vette kit . Then I could do an accurate Big John Mazmanian car
  7. Dont hold me to this. But I think all the 65 Fury pace car convertibles had a medium blue top. ??????? Friend of mine sold the 1/1 car he had last year . But I have been looking for a builder kit to make a replica of it for a while,,,and havent found one yet within my budget . His had the blue and white bench seat interior, 383 with a 2 bbl and console auto
  8. I removed the decals on a 1971 Duster that had been on there for probably 20 years. I just soaked the body in solvaset and used my fingernail to pick the decals away . NO damage to the finish at all
  9. Same here, built the 55 kit and its a VERY nice kit. I think the only complaint I had is the windsheild just barely fills the opening from the inside . so be very aware of how or what you use to set the glass ps, i like the color you have on it
  10. A 1958 seems to be one tough cookie to come up with,,, reasonably. I looked for nearly a year before I got one in my budget. ( mine is a convertible ) I have an extra vert body if someone needs it,,,but its been pretty heavily modified . and I think its to far gone to build anything close to OE stock
  11. Just like the title states.,,,,,,,Whats the best source for either / both of the above engines ? I have a project in mind and I cant decide if I want to go new powertrain or stick with old but cool looking
  12. Seller has sold built kits for WAAAAAAAY more then that.
  13. All street Hemi cars were black valve covers. Not 100% certain but I think the only factory installed chrome valve covers were 64-65 Race hemi cars Now, that said . it wouldnt be all that uncommon for Race cars to have there valve covers chromed,,,as it was a popular thing to do back then . And in every underhood picture of a S+M car I have ,,its chrome valve covers.. So chances even though the S+M bird started life as a Street Hemi car with black valve covers. My money is on it had chrome
  14. Hope its just a picture angle but it looks like the front edge of the roof / top of the windshield opening .....curls upward? If that's the case PLEASE fix it before release
  15. I like it, I have one I keep thinking I need to go ahead and build it for a slump buster
  16. Want a case of these. Is the roof supposed to be repaired in this issue ? And yes it is the one needed to do the Bill Jenkins - Black Arrow car
  17. Pin it. Superbird wings were never painted on the car
  18. Not to bust your bubble ......But on an actual 1968 Hemi Dart...The battery is in the trunk Otherwise it looks fantastic
  19. Count me in as another vote for a 56 Continental kit in 1/25th scale. I have always liked the looks of the car
  20. Those were good looking cars. Friend of mine used to own a black on black one with the 425 ? with 2 fours. For a big car that thing would FLY
  21. This week I picked up an empty box for wall art of I think is 1970 Camaro And 3 builtups........ AMT 1959 Impala Craftsman series,,,,, MPC 1971 Cuda and a AMT 1961 Sunliner . Got what I thought was a good buy for the 4 pieces ( less than $80 for it all )
  22. Sorry , not a fan of skirts , UNLESS ,,,,,,,,, when they have a nice pair of legs sticking out of them,,,,,,But thats whole another story line that could probably go all wrong
  23. Havent seen it in a while. But there use to be a 62 Galaxie vert around here locally. Black with red int. 406 4spd . I REALLY liked that car. Same guy also owns a white with red int 63 vert , I heard a few months back he had put a cammer motor in the 63 but I havent seen it yet
  24. Even though I am not usually a hot rod fan / builder . This car just pops my butons in all the right places,,,,,So I want to replicate it as close as I can. Anyone know the style or name of the wheels , Is anything close avail in 1/25th scale ??????
