My deepest condolences to his family and close friends. I think he was around my age so 53 would be about right. Which is far to young to make an exit. I had talked to him a few times over the years about decals and bodies bouncing pontential ideas off his head. I have a couple of his decal sheets and they are VERY nice

If so ,,,it Sounds like the version is marketed to represent an actual 1965 Race car for the period yet the tires are for modern times . So basically the tires are all wrong for the model as represented on the box art????? Which means to build an accurate car as shown on the box, the builder has to use tires from the aftermkt or parts box ( IF they have one ) A very bad decision IMO

I've had some issues with Slixx decals sheets splitting apart when trying to remove them from the water / apply them. But as far as I know I havent had any yellowing issues with any decals once applied . Be them kit decals , slixx or Fred cady. And I have at least one build with fred cady decals thats well over 20 years old now

what tires are going to be in this kit

I have 3 total.,,,One has diecast cars and dealership promos and some of my wife's Precious Moments figurines , 2nd one is models and shares space with my 2 girls sports awards My main one,, in the family room downstairs is all models . That one my Dad made for me a few years back .

I would dare say , she did that to a lot of teenage boys back then cool model . Doing Figures is something I have never thought about getting into . Might have to rethink that .

When I was over his place a few weeks back , I asked where he gets his inventory . His reply was probably 90% of the items Ebay seller Floyd426 sells , he bought either as a complete kit or part of an entire collection . He purchased off of Ebay. So a buyer who wanted it whole already had there chance to buy it as such . .Like it or not,,,,, Anyone can call it anything they want. BUT,,,IMO , his cash = he is free to do with it as he wishes . I have no problem with it in any way shape or form

If theres a site dedicated to restoring old kits, I dont know abut it . I started getting interested in old annuals a year or so ago . Prior to that it was drag cars and Mopar factory stock builds . It lite a fire in me when Steve ( posted above ) restored a 58 Sunliner kit last year. That one got me thinking I wanted some of the old kits. Unfortunately its snowballed just a wee bit .. Started off looking for the 1959 annauls ( year I was born ) Then I bumped it to annauls from 1958 thru 1961 , And now even thats bumped slighty to the 1963s . All of them are convertibles ( I like open cars ) I started with a built but unpainted 1958 Bonneville convertible kit. It felt pretty cool working with plastic that was older than I am . And I am extremely happy with the finished product. And when I took it to a local car show this past summer to show a friend of mine who is into Pontiacs,,,,,,. I turned down some pretty serious cash for it .

Steve, Have you considered the wheels from the Polar Lights 65 Dodge ? My 65 convertible kit is still on my desk and I just stumbled onto a set of the hubcaps from a PL 1965 Coronet parts kit ,,,so I did some digging on the net ,,,,,,,and I am pretty sure they were the same between body lines that year

Agreed, I've seen the ' looking for a sucker ' sellers a few times and just chuckle a bit when I do . Although I have no problem paying up to get something I REALLY want but i am not going to get to crazy . Steve, I' have been casuallly keeping an eye on some of the early pickups ( I keep telliing my toy fund I need some of them,,,but it keeps telling me NO I don't ) But decent builders run in the $50 - $60 range and up depending on whos after it ,,,IMO Not likely an unbuilt will be under $100

I have an MPC 65 Monaco convertible kit and the door panel design on the kit is very different than shown above. ,,plus the kit is a bench seat car

For the rescord, i dont hate the 1970 Cuda kit .I have 2 of them and was planning on buying multiples, untill I saw the body errors . And the enterily wrong hood scoop has kept me from buying the sox and martin version completely I just think they missed the mark . But with some minor tweaking it can easily be a top shelf kit .
