  1. Keep-em coming boys,,,,,, That slammed black one is killer,,,and I am not a fan of the big wheel / rubber band tire movement . But it sure looks good in the weeds
  2. For gods sake, its a model kit not brain surgery
  3. Looking good so far. And I agree , Black with red interior is killer looking on these old Dodge If you dont mind,,heres a little insperation for you.
  4. John, By all means show what ever you got. Projects is my middle name Whats with the missing spear on the pass side fender of the 58 ?
  5. Only seat decals are green inserts? Do the seats themselves have the pattern molded in ? ..in case I don't want to do a green interior
  6. I've got project 1959 Bonneville convertible as well as a 62 Bonneville convertible both waiting quietly in the wings After seeing Steves '59 hardtop all finished ,,,,,,,my '59 will probably be a this winter project . I also have a second 60 convertible I am not sure what I am going to do with And in case no ones noticed,,,I buy only convertibles. I have a passion for big open cars
  7. No. I don't buy them. I haven't heard of anyone fixing them
  8. I have a local hobby shop within 10 minutes. And I try my best to buy my everyday supplies or current kits there. Someday he's not going to be there. It's not a matter of if...buy when
  9. Steve. Is the last one a 1961 ? I REALLY like that one
  10. WOW. I really thought it was a real car . Well done
  11. Pretty cool idea. This past spring I gave away 2 builds that very well could be my best work yet . Both went to good friends and are in good hands . I dont regret it one bit . I have a Chrysler Turbine car radio and it works
  12. For kits made in the past 25 years , no. But I do have several boxes for the old old annuals I intend to keep ( talking late 50s and early 60s kits )
  13. Agreed, I saw what looks like a channel on the exterior of the body . If this is fact the case ,,one slip and your done
  14. Doesn't the AMT 62 Catalina have a clear steering wheel as well ? Several of the early 1/1 Mopar cars had clear steering wheels
  15. A few other threads are doing quite well. And I tend to lean more outside the main stream as far as interests go. Plus I have a 1959 Bonneville and a 1962 Bonneville ( both convertibles ) I need to redo and need some ideas . So,,,,,,, post em if you have them I'll start. An originai issue SMP 1958 Bonneville convertible I rebuilt earlier this year. my 2nd one is a builtup silver 1960 Bonneville I bought as is and seriuosly doubt I'll ever take it apart .
  16. BADMAN hands down. But then I don't build shoebox chevies either
  17. Top 2 look like 1969 coronet maybe .?
  18. Harbor Freight has an assortment of O rings for cheap
  19. Although I am not buying at the rate I was a few years ago...but with somewhere in the 350-400 kit range stash ......I guess I need to get busy.
  20. Steve, Believe me, I thought about that. And I try my best to avoid the builds with all the custom stuff glued on. BUT,,,, I also look at whats under there . If its just a thin mldg like these cars had. Then I dont worry about it to much. On a 1959 Mercury Parklane or Ford Galaxie as an example it becomes a completely different animal. Seems like finding them without the goofy stuff added on is tough . Then I weigh the options of how much I am willing to accept at a particular price point. Before bidding on it I looked at pics of the 1/1 cars I have a feeling its not going to be a big deal ,,,,at least I hope so .Either way at the price point I think I'll be ok.
  21. Just picked up a decent builtup 1960 Buick convertible. with its original box and instructions. All for the grand total of $35 I think ( hope ) all the custom stuff will come up without to much grief
  22. If you want to do the Bucky Hess car in either paint treatment. I am definitly in. Based on how succesful this car has been over the years,,,,,I'm suprised no one has ever done it before
  23. I 'm not familiar with the Firebird kit in question. But something to keep in mind if its a kit based on an old annual ,,,, the chassis rests against the interior floorpan. and the interior tub rests against the glass , so make sure the glass is in when doing your mockup
