  1. Just did an Ebay search found a couple sets that look interesting Anyone have a better picture of the wheels and tires in these
  2. Very true, especially if its high dollar value collector type kit. Just watch Ebay. If one sells for big money ,, just keep an eye out. as there are usually a few more that come out of the woodwork. You have to be patiant and you will get a fair price.
  3. The only Cadillac I have is still unbuilt. And I think its a 1931. But I am looking for a 1958 or 1959 now
  4. Same here. I have Hobby Villa local to me here in northern Ky. He's not the cheapest. But the guys working there truly try to get me anything I want/need. And I try to spend my hobby dollar with him whenever I can.
  5. Agreed,,,,,,,,All kits were meant to be built...but its a fact a lot were not. Even though I have several old ones that are still untouched, but I usually dont look at unbuilts simply because I want to build them . With exception to just one single kit ( its a dead mint Barry Setzer vega funnycar btw ) in my stash every single one is to build ,,,someday And I dont consider myself a collector. So even the unbuilt / untouched 1959 Edsel I just picked up will be built . I'm not going to cut it up or anything crazy but my plans from my 1st Ebay bid to get it was to build it . It was the nicest one I could find that didnt have all the crazy custom stuff glued to it . My budget on old annuals is about $50 each range. And so far I've done pretty well, some went over,,but some were cheaper. . Considering a new off the shelf kit will be $25 now $50 for something that cant be bought just anywhere I dont feel is to bad. The Edsel on the other hand was more than double my original budget,,,,,,,but I wanted it so dont tell the wife god I tried to get an unbuilt 1958 Buick kit yesterday,,,,, at over 3 times my typical per kit budget,,,and I ddnt get it .
  6. to me it looks like all 3 are different from one another. top and bottom one have different exhaust tips. and the middle one has different air cleaner and/or exhaust poking up thru the rear deck ps, this kit wasnt even on my radar,,till I saw this picture.I might just have to build one of them just for giggles
  7. I have a bunch of kits that stil have the price sticker on them of $4.99 Now I jump for joy when its under $20
  8. This may have been asked before but I cant find anything. So,,I want to stray out from my usual resto stock or old drag cars builds and build a hotrod. Thinking about a wheel choice something like these , or maybe an old Halibrand looking piece. I would like to stay with some tires that have a sidewall yet low profile . I want the big and little look between ft and rear Whats avail in kit or aftermkt form ?
  9. I'm guessing the 283 Neat cars all done up
  10. I use the same stuff to make fuel and brake lines . its even avail in a braided covered wired as well . Works great to replicate steel braided fuel and oil lines
  11. An absolutly pristine 1959 Edsel kit. That one hurt the toy fund.
  12. my thoughts exactly My deepest condolences to the entire Holthaus family.
  13. This is by far not the worst build I've ever done. But its the the worst one I happen to still have... And to be honest Its one of my favorites today. And is highly unlikely it will ever get 'redone'
  14. 5 weeks ..? wow, Impressive
  15. I'm in. I've been looking for one of these for myself. Without much success I might add
  16. What ,,,no pictures ? ps,,,I for one vote you need to start a thread with pictures of all these old annuals builtups in one post .
  17. No Sixpack on any mopar in 1968
  18. Carter AVS, I think this one was painted with Jet exhaust. Then flowed a little detailer on it to bring out the details
  19. Steve, I saw that one listed and almost went after it myself. I've noticed theres been a few 63 Dodge kits lately avail. on the 'Bay. I might have to snag a convertible for myself . But its not like I actually NEED it ,,,,
  20. The modelhaus frame I have in this , does indeed have sunvisors attached
  21. I just finished out my last pack of BMF, and its probably 3 or 4 years old. I had no adhesion issues what so ever. Mine hangs in the basement so I cant say if I have any humidity issues My one and only complaint is there seems to be less glue along the edge of the sheet ,,,,so I just avoid the first 1/4" or so along the edge of the sheet and all is good
  22. Thats something that would be extremly time consuming to put together. Although I myself would sure like to have something like it ,,if its accurate
  23. My haul from over the weekend these are the keepers 1960 LIncoln, 1961 New Yorker , 1962 Bonneville , and a re-issue 1955 Pontiac .
  24. I doubt, you would feel that way if it was YOUR companies tooling that YOUR company paid for that was being used to make said knockoffs without YOUR company was being compensated for there use
  25. If you want a 1968 model year.....your only option is the AMT kit. 1969 is Johan only. 1970 is johan followed by the poor excuse monogram kit. I would love to see an accurate 1970 kit in 1.25th scale..but imo is unlikely. I have all 3 so I haven't been looking lately..but I know the 70 will easily pull the most of the 3 built or inbuilt . the 69 kit is available but even the reissues pull decent money. at the local swap meet this past weekend there was decent original issue 1969 builtup for less than 45 I've turned down over a $100 for my builtup 70 kit. So I feel there is a solid market for a new tool of it. Same goes for mpc 1968 or 69 coronet kit.
