  1. The wheels, and the blower are painted with Metalizers then clear coated with semi gloss clear testors Blower and rear wheels are magnesium and the ft wheels are aluminum ( both lightly buffed then cleared )
  2. Interesting take on the old girl. I just finished one of these , the 3 tone interior was a major pain. Otherwise its really good kit .
  3. Other than the Hemi nothing in 1968 was orange.
  4. Looks good. Not an easy kit to get together
  5. The chassis from the Lindberg 64 Dodge fit my Johan 1961 Dodge perfectly
  6. Weird part is, Promos were molded in Acetate but a kit version the same car was molded in stryene Its not unusual to find a warped promo but a perfectly mint unwarped kit of the exact same car / kit / time period ( Johan 1963 Dodge Polara as an example )
  7. WOW,,,some of you guys are in a league of your own Keepum coming
  8. Your off to a pretty good looking start. Whos car is it going to be ? I don't reconize the color scheme
  9. Should have done this a long time ago. Now that the photos are fixed. A litte bit of info is in order. Polar Lights kit. built box stock . Body was painted last spring when I got on a painting spree , as was the chassis. Then I got interested in something else and this one went by the wayside. I've decided the past few weeks I want all started projects out of the box + off the bench before anything else gets started. ( got about 4 or 5 more to go ) I don't remember the color the body is painted in , might be Testors . But it has a Upol rattel can urethane clear top coat . Chassis is duplicolor red. Wheels were stripped and painted with testors metalizers - rears are magnisium and ft's are aluminum and both with a satin clearcoat. Interior tins are painted with duplicolor chrome to get a polished aluminum look so common with the Gene Snow car. Untill I find the oil filter assy and seat belts, this ones done and in the case. I REALLY like these Polar Lights funnycar kits
  10. Doing the happy dance I got he picture ordeal fixed,, so heres a few more
  11. John, Once completed is the body going to remain removable to show detail ? I would think it would have to , to really display all the work involved here I'll give ya props, the work involved here is off the charts . Ugly subject matter,(imo ) but the detail borders on fanatical
  12. Whats not to like, Injected Hemi in an altered wheelbase Dodge. Love it , but I might be slightly biased. My goal is to build all the major players running AFX cars back then
  13. Lets see if this way works. I signed up for Photobucket yesterday
  14. I've paid anywhere from $2 to $500 for kits. Although the chance I will actually build a $500 kit is extremely unlikely. ( sold the $500 kit btw ) Most I have in any one kit today is about $125-$150 range. But I also collect dealer promotionals as well,And they'll put a dent it the wallet quite deep . But thats another post altogether. Back when I did contests , I used to build models using lots of aftermkt pieces. There for could easily tip the $100 and up on builds But now and for the most part outside of the costs of the kit itself and basic suppiles , ( paint and supplies along with some aftermkt decals on a few ) I rarely spend much more than the kits costs.
  15. Is there one of these avail, prefer a 1962 Chev BelAir if avail
  16. Around here Kinkos, Staples or Office Max will not do such a thing. they all says it's copy righted material
  17. For some reason, I am thinking slixx did them ?????? ( sorry, I don't have a set to ck )
  18. HOLY COW,,,, , what scale are those? in the right lighting they would pass for 1/1
  19. A monogram 1/25th scale 1959 Corvette.
  20. ANY sales of 1970 Hemi Cuda hardtops in the past 25 years ,,,,,,, NONE have sold for anywhere near the asking price of this car. This car has been marketed off and on for the better part of the past 10-15 years and it's ALWAYS been priced well WELL over any known sold or asking price of a similar condition car. The fact this car is the supposedly 1st one made has made no impression it's ever going to be worth such a significant price differential of a similar condition/equipped car. This car is no secret out of the past . it's sat in a museum in northern Indiana for most of it life. and is well known in the Mopar community. So ' if ' were going to sell for top dollar it would have done so a LOOOOOONG time ago. IF it goes to a supposed 'no reserve auction' ,,, I'll bet it sells for no way near the so called advertised / marketed price . Back when a similar condition 1970 Hemi Cuda was easily bringing in the $175-$225K range this car was advertised for $1 mil.,,it didn't sell then either . the red 1971 is a much better car, better year , better color combination, better condition , better investment, less mileage. and it hasn't sold either. just my opinion only ps, wanna bet a virtual beer it doesn't sell this time around either ?
  21. so who does the wagon resin kit ? is it still avail .?
  22. It's the bel air btw. I know about the teal color and by the pictures I found it looks like it was kind of a 'teal blue' seats and 2 tone colors on the door panels . The color I used is close,(its a duplicolor rattle can ) may not be dead on , but good engough for my shelf . It looks a lot better than my big screw up with red interior. This car was done back before my internet / google search days . Decals I will be using looks light blue in the add. but they may very well be a teal color, I'll know next week sometime Thanks for the note
  23. I found a few here , sometimes it's all about how you word the search criteria http://www.google.com/search?q=fred+gibb+camaro&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=E84wUc-GEdKy0QGxNQ&sqi=2&ved=0CDIQsAQ&biw=1117&bih=508#imgrc
  24. The white car has been for sale for the a long time and always been at 2 times what it's worth. The red 1971 car is ( IMO ) a much better buy and investment
  25. Model kings versions are all ( in most cases ) some kind of re-issue / old kit. He basically buys the entire run to have the kit re-issued. Some are just straight repops , some have model king only parts/decals included . What this tells me is the tooling exists and the manufactures will at some point ( probably ) re-release it on there own.
