  1. My hood was tweaked . Much worst than it is now. It spent some time in hot water to get it better But still not perfect. To avoid breaking it or making it worst I'll live with it as it is today
  2. Thanks I found an article online where its all explained.
  3. A quick assessment to ck stance and make all wheels touch the surface. I tried the amt Goodyear polyglas tires. But they are much to tall for this one It's done for the weekend for me. I'll get back to it one-day next week.
  4. WOW, Impressive. What scale is that
  5. Afraid I cant. I have 3 or 4 of the duster kits. All earmarked for old prostock builds. The 340s on the other hand are a different story. I did get the body in its first coat of color today. But am out of clear. So its done for the day. Chassis I carefully taped up and rattle can sprayed the fenderwells in a Fo paw undercoating kinda sorta look. ( I dont have an airbrush so I have to do it the old fashion way ,,,,Tape) I have house projects tomorrow,,,and next day . So this will most likely be it for this model bench for a few days.
  6. WOW. On the 1/1 is the body a full on custom hand built or based off of anything OE
  7. I had to go ck. But yes. Thats it. IMO the metallic is just a tad to much. But again, once cleared it will look REALLY nice in my case Edit, I have a can of Model Master Nassau blue here. Its close. But IMO the Tamiya is a better option
  8. Im just using a Tamiya rattle can color. Compared to an original color chip I have. its close enough. I dont do contests so it doesnt have to be dead nuts perfect for my case. The only ones who will ever see it in person is me and my family.
  9. Just an overall better representation and more accurate scale of the engine in the engine bay. As a general rule. Im more of an out of the box builder. But had started this engine for a MPC 1970 Challenger I have to replicate a car I used to own. So this engine has been in the file for several years. And I couldn't live with the underscale kits engine in this build. So I'll ad maybe some more detail like heater hoses and call it good
  10. Very very nice. I have the pair of MPC 69 Coronets, one ea vert and hardtop I was thinking about a matching set in the Q5 with white . This confirms it
  11. Thanks for the pics. I just watch a white glue buildup. I have one on the bench right now. As I used to own a real bright blue 71 Demon 340 And was quite giddy when I heard this kit was coming. I have an original MPC builder but broke some of the tail light bars. So in the box it went Well done, Love the Sassy Grass green
  12. Having used to own a real one. This kit was super high on my too do list. And So having recently retired.,,,Now is as good a time as any. Not sure I can live with the grossly underscale kit engine. I might have to use the AMT duster engine instead. I have this one done several years back for an mpc 70 challenger build. So am thinking use it here instead. Chassis is painted to kinda sorta look OE. But my old car was undercoating. I like this better.
  13. Anyone have a new Demon started yet. Im about to and be nice to know of any pitfalls before hand
  14. This, Ive seen it done and it looks pretty good
  15. Original 72 Duster compared to current 71 Duster
  16. Closeups. Original MPC 72 versus current 71 Demon
  17. Ive seen the issue before and its been hashed here before. Myself, I have a built original issue 71 Duster in the case. and an unbuilt 72 Duster to build. So all the current 71 Dusters I have will be old prostock replicas. Will I change the / alter the C pillar? Not likely Pictures are . Lime green MPC 1972 Duster in the fore ground All white the Current 71 Demon in the center White / primer is the current 71 Duster in the rear
  18. How about a 70-71 Dodge Dart Otherwise I Cant say Ive really got much on my radar . except maybe an early Dodge Truck The 68 Coronet and Demon are 2 I never expected to see again. So Im good A 67 Cougar might catch my interest though as I used to own one If none of the above materialize. Im good. I have MORE than enough to keep me busy till the end of my days.
  19. Got the 3 I bought off ebay this afternoon. Costs me about $20 over the Hobbylinc order I had,,,,which I cancelled But I have them
  20. Well, I couldn't take it. But 3 of them off ebay last nite . $34 ea When I was in my local hobbyshop. They had the 68 Coronet rt verts $45 plus tax So I figured the Demons would be similar $$$ So just said heck with it and did the BIN on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/325988760606?
  21. No idea. at least 2 of the sellers have had a few dozen . All at $29.99 plus postage I stopped by my local hobbyshop today and asked about them and they havent had a single one I'm just going to wait for my Hobbylinc order.
  22. Ive got 3 of them on order at Hobbylinc. No word on when they ship yet But there have been dozens sold on ebay the past few weeks . Some sellers even have 2nd round sales
  23. Agreed, Outside of maybe a couple dozen modern kits I want to do . Old annuals makes up probably 70-80 percent ( or more ) of my build plans the next few years. Mostly quick simple rebuilds and in the case they go.
  24. I bought 2 of them at $49 each last week on ebay. But the order got canceled on me earlier this week . I still have 3 of them on backorder via Hobbylink. Im going to keep watch on ebay . otherwise , I guess at this point , I'll get them when I get them.
