  1. I bought a resin conversion to convert an AMT 70 to a 71 several years ago. To be 100% honest, Im not sure who I got it from though. Thats been a while The pieces came so warped and so thin. There was no way to save them. I dropped them in the trash and went looking for a decent builder original MPC kit
  2. Narrowed the list down As a general rule Cadillacs are not big money promos Jo-Han Promos Cadillac for sale | eBay
  3. I used to dabble in dealer promos. The best rule to follow is the older it is , the more valuable it can be. Not necessarily will be in every case . Also, Convertibles can / usually bring more than hardtops , Again not written in stone. This is where colors condition and boxes come into play. Ebay sold sales can be an excellent place to look. But use it as a guide not a bible. Some cars sell for more can be simply the right person at right time was looking for that particular car in that particular color Dont put a lot of value is non sold cars with big asking prices. Ive seen some cars sit for years and not sell because its been priced so far out of line. They are simply looking for a buyer who has an attachment to a particular car / color etc etc
  4. So the way I see it and understand this . This kit has the hemi and crossram it. Giving it the option build a wedge head or hemi car from same kit.
  5. I should clarify a bit. Im not knocking anyone trying to run a self employed business, Hell I had my own for about 7 years . Never got busy enough to hire help. But stayed busy enough to keep me going until bldg rent just got out of hand and I walked away. Moved across country less than a year later. I had a decal custom made that no one else makes , Time from my initial inquiry to finished product was about 2 - 1/2 maybe 3 months. And I was ok with that. As I didn't pay for anything until I approved the copy. From that point to delivery was about 2 or 3 weeks
  6. Im sorry for any ones loss . But I aint waiting 5 months with virtually zero response for anything I order I realize the modeling cottage industry isnt a huge money business. But as a seller communication is key Im willing to wait a reasonable time to receive a custom order item. But 5 - 6 months isnt reasonable IMO
  7. We had Tye Dye , they have pre torn . Its a fad This is youngest daughter
  8. My hats off to you or anyone else that has the vision , AND the capability to see something like this and go for it
  9. No way could I nail it o down to one single car . These could all fit comfortably in my dream garage Ferrari GTO Ford GT40 1938 Delahaye 165 Figoni and Falaschi Cabriolet ( or similar ) 1961 Chrysler 300 , conv preferred please And, Im quite fond of my current car , 1966 Plymouth Satellite , Hemi auto And I wouldnt kick a 1970 Coronet RT vert out either
  10. Thaks all for the kind words
  11. If you still need them. Pm me address
  12. I like it. I've got several 30s kits I want to build
  13. 1st and foremost. I'm a gear head and have been since I was old enough to walk and talk. Bought my 1st model car sometime mid 60s I think. I've taken some time away here and there over the years. But for some reason...I always come back to it. Recently retired so I've a lot more free time on my hands. And model Cars are my way of admiring the stuff I enjoy at a much less expense than trying to own multiple vehicles . Not to mention it keeps me busy and makes me work my brain from time to time . I have several hundred kits to get thru while I'm on the green side. I figure I've got enough kits to last me until about 120 years old...give or take.
  14. Maybe the muscle car era stuff. Takes a hit in value...maybe it doesnt. My girls will be there to scoop up one or two for themselves. ( they are 24 and 27 ) They drive this old hotrod every chance they get. They don't even ask anymore. They just grab the keys and head for the drivers door. Telling me I'm a passenger .......all the time. And I'm loving every minute of it Also... and Hagerty is the one whom suggested I raise the insurance on mine from 75k to 105k two years ago.
  15. Started off as a red with red int 80s issue Johan friction promo. For an all duplicolor rattle can refresh/ I think it turned out pretty good , IMO of course. Its a replica of a project car I bought about out of a northern KY junkyard ( it had been in a flood ) 15-20 years ago. Lost it in a fire about 10 years ago Any comments good or bad. Im ok with . But it feels good to get one done and in the case after a long hiatis away. It will come back out of the case in the near future to detail the hubcaps and the side spear/vents with some highlighter. Thanks for cking it out
  16. Paint is polished. Didnt turn out to bad for a rattle can Grill and tail lights detailed BMF work is almost done. Hopefully. Assy tomorrow afternoon
  17. It was a project but rust free and complete. 440 TNT motor, console auto, Factory air, factory cruise control pwr drum brakes. In 15 years or more, Ive yet to see another one like it I was crushed when I heard of the fire
  18. Steve, Mine will NOT be any where near the level you build. For me just getting something to the finish line after such a long hiatus. I think this might be the kit / buildup I need to do just that Mine is a friction chassis promo I bought many years ago for just this build. Other than repaint it and some detail work, It will look the same in my case . If all goes well, that will be by the end of next week. Right now , its painted and sitting idle for a few days so I can polish it out a bit. But no matter, I would love to see what you do with the big boat
  19. I have been a fan of the big body Mopar's for ages. Actually owned a few. And oddly enough dug this out of the pile just this past week or so . In hopes to try and knock it out and into the case. Owned it nearly 20 years now I guess. So maybe its time . Its to be a replica of a car I owned several years ago
  20. Trying to get back into the whole modeling groove. One of reissue Johan friction promo Purchased long ago. In plans to replicate a car I used to own. Sadly...the car was destroyed . lost it in a fire. Car is molded red with red interior. But incorrect colors for the year. Simple plan is....a take it apart and paint the correct colors of my old car. I'll do some BMF work on all the trim. Give the paint a light polish. And in the case it goes Duplicolor gloss black and clear . Herbs parts for the interior color. Same as my 66 satellite All rattle cans
  21. Anyone able to confirm what color the Original issue was for this car Orange , Or white. ?
  22. Cool. Never would have guessed that. Many thanks
