  1. Looks pretty nice! Quite tiny in 1/43 scale. have the old, AMT '48 Ford in 1:43. Not built yet.
  2. I build all kinds of cars, as long as they are made by Ford and have a V8. Used to build GM cars too, but starting in 2016, I decided to only build a kit if it's a V8 Ford.
  3. Thank you guys!! Very appreciated!!! Thanks!! I buy black paint by the liter, automotive enamel. Both of those cars were airbrushed. And I use a old Badger 350 single action. I only use a double action for small detail, like a floor pan overspray. You and me both. Never saw a car that is better looking than a '57 Fairlane 500 Club Victoria.
  4. '36 from the movie Maxie. 1936 Ford De Luxe Roadster by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr Christine. Fixing Christine by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr
  5. It looks great!! The windshield columns need to be foiled, as on the 1:1 they are wrapped with a stainless trim, and no body color shows. That feature, the Fairlane had in common with the same period Galaxies.
  6. Thanks guys!!! I'll take some pictures of the two '56 Hot Rods I built together. Thinking about building a '56 in two tone, and very stock looking, but with a supercharged V8 from the Fireball Roberts kit.
  7. Thanks gentlemen. Very appreciated!!
  8. I'm a happy camper today. Managed to get another sealed '48 Convertible, another sealed '53 Crestliner, plus some new release kits, a display casing, and some paint.
  9. Building a '53 Ford right now. Not having much bench time, so let's post new pictures of ancient builds!!!!! Hope I'm not boring you guys. 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr 1956 X 1957 Fords by CCCP Digital Studio, on Flickr
  10. Looking good. Front splash pan is painted Argent (aluminum) from the factory. Have multiples of this kit built, it's my all time favorite kit.
  11. WOW!! And that kit is considered to have real bad proportions. I won't say it's perfect, but for sure can be built into a super cool model car, if enough care is taken. This is the case here. Awesome work.
  12. Looks great, with nice color combo, and very clean execution. The interior looks great!! The rear bumper needs fixing tough. The rear splash shield needs to go in the backside of the bumper, and not on top of the bumperettes. Easy fix tough.
  13. I agree 100%. Park a 1934 Ford side by side with that thing, and see both cars. Really take a good look at them. The only thing Ford there is the subtle hint given by the grille overall shape. Foose created a car, that is in essence a modern car, with all creature comforts bells and whistles of a high end modern car, but that is different from all modern cars you can buy at the dealer. That and the hint it was based on a '34 Ford (making it instantly into a hot rod), plus the craftsmanship involved into building such a car will make the guy that has the necessity of showing off to feel accomplished, to buy it in a heartbeat. The "hey look at me, look at what I bought, and you can't have one" guy will love it.
  14. I think Mr. Foose is real good on what he does, that is to create stuff that will satisfy the guys that want something exclusive, and different from the run of the mill dealer bought car. I just happen to dislike what he does, as I dislike hot rods in general, and barely tolerate even reversible modifications to a original car.- I don't like the big wheels, and the modern looking appearance of his original designs. That has a lot to do with my dislike of modern vehicles in general. When he modifies a existing car, he tends to smooth the lines, and to eliminate gapes, like between fenders and bumpers. While this has appeal to many, I don't like it. Another thing I don't like is the paint schemes he uses, like some two tone effects, and graphics. In general Foose is too high tech for me. I also dislike the late Boyd, for the same reason. I remember watching Boyd's show, when he was building a red '56 Chevy, and someone said it was the best '56 in the US. I beg to differ. The best one would be a all original '56, just like it was originally built at the GM factory. Not a over restored one, a ORIGINAL car.
  15. Yeah, that Fairlane is a beauty. I wouldn't have the guts to take it apart. That ones deserves a resto on the paint damage.
  16. I would have restored the AMT Vicky. The Revell '57 Ford body can't hold a candle to the AMT. Not to mention the top of the line Fairlane 500 Club Victoria is a real treat. But, if you want a wagon...
  17. I always open the box. Had way too many kits with missing parts and tire burn. I only buy a used kit, if it's open, and it's everything ok. Some time ago I broke this rule, as it was a kit I really like (Revell '48 Ford convertible, the one in the donuts box). Kit was sealed, the original wrap was intact, and once I got it, and opened the box, found the body to have a windshield frame broken in 3 parts. Last year I decided to build one of my Monogram '57 Bel Air kit, in 1/12 scale (had five of those, all sealed, plus the built ups) and the one I opened had a nasty tire burn on the chassis pan. Opened all the other four kits, and found one more with a tire burn, this time on the trunk. Easy fix, but in my mind all 5 kits were mint, as they were all sealed. I don't buy kits to collect, as what I really enjoy is building the little buggers. Make a huge pile of kits, you won't build them all, and one nice day you are dead, and your prized kits are all over e-bay... No sir, I build what i get.
  18. Saw a '83 Landau while driving my '82 Landau... Made a new friend. Also saw a '79 Maverick GT.
  19. It's really great to see a '40s car that is not rod, or a beater, or a lowrider, and that looks classy like yours. Great color choice, great execution, and great detail work. A great build, that's for sure!!
  20. That is awesome. The car looks 1:1
  21. Oh yeah!!!!
  22. Not on the road, but inside a garage building. 1973 Chevrolet Opala.
  23. WTF - what I think when I see most of 2018 model year cars. OMG - when I see what people are charging for the now super rare, impossible to replace Revell kits...
  24. Maybe the wash is too subtle. The rings on the hubcaps are kind of necessary. On the 1:1 hubcap, that separate ring the AMT kit has, is not separate, it's part of the hubcap itself, just painted body color. A way to do a correct hubcap without the body color bits, is to foil the separate rings, and glue them to the hubcaps.
