RancheroSteve Posted March 21, 2015 Author Posted March 21, 2015 So, what was the base kit? Any chassis and engine pics? The base kit is the Model King re-issue of the old AMT annual - reviewed here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3155&hl=comet The kit (and the model) is a curbside - no engine and one piece chassis plate, which I just painted semi-gloss black.
John Teresi Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Steve.......beautiful build......very impressive.
crazyjim Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Exceelent build. Wasn't that car featured in Hot Rod decades ago?
GlueTube Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I can't add anymore to what the others have offered other than great job on great and unusual subject matter! It cries out for a simple diorma base. Regards Brian Kroon
Phildaupho Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Fabulous model. Looks like it came off the page of a 1964 Mercury ad.
jbwelda Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 was following the WIP and boy it turned out fantastic! jb
Harry P. Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Wow! Somebody obviously did his homework on this one... Just one question... the black number ball is under the chrome side trim? Or did they apply the number and then cut away part of the black circle to expose the chrome trim?
GLMFAA1 Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 (edited) Good job and I can appreciate your decal work greg Edited March 24, 2015 by GLMFAA1
jdcar32 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 This pushes all my buttons ! I bet the research was alot of fun. I remember these as a kid, along with the Monte Carlo Rallye Falcons. The spot light shields along with the accurate markings really look authentic, really nice.
