cobraman Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Finished this one up today. Not what I would normally build but have been wanting to do stuff out of my comfort zone lately. I have not built a classic style car in over 40 years so it was about time. This was a good kit but was a problem for me because of the many tiny pieces. Not the best job in the world but the best I could do with my limited talents. I could not get the hood to fit right to save my soul. Car was finished with all Duplicolor paints. Primer, red and clear. I wired the engine and added a piece of aluminum tubing to the exhaust pipe. The interior was done in ivory. Comment are always welcome pro or con. Thanks for looking.
bbowser Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Looks very nice! I've been debating on getting one of these, looks good in red. Foil work is nice and clean.
mike 51 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Nice job. I saw an orginal issue (unbuilt) the other day...the finish on the body and chrome was nearly perfect, very impressive.
wayne swayze Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Great job Ray! Car looks really nice. You're getting good at this modeling thing....hahaha! What's next?
landman Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I guess I have to redo mine now. :)Nice work, sleek machine.
Harry P. Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Ray, don't feel bad about the poor hood fit. For some reason, hood fit on kits of cars from this era always seems to be a problem, for me too. Other than he hood fit, the model is a real beauty! And that red is killer! I hope you realize what a nice job you've done, and consider doing another classic or two. They are a lot of fun to build.
Tom Geiger Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Great job Ray! I was watching the build thread and saw it was finished so I popped over here. I'd be pleased with the results. It's not how we screwed it up, it's how we recover that matters! It's a nice model.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Looks really good, Ray. Paint's super slick and the color is perfect for it. Any darker would have been too tame, and any more orange would have been too...orange. Fine looking model.
cobraman Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Fellows, I can't tell you how good it makes an old "Glue Bomber" like myself to get so many good comments from people I feel are much more talented than I am. You guys keep me going and make me want to do better work. This kit was a challenge for me due to the quantity of tiny parts. Thank you all very much.
slusher Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Great build Ray and a really smooth and shiny finish.
