Chuck Most Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) This one's basically done- I still need to settle on what to stick on the back, at which time I'll do the sides and any signage. The wheels and crane are from an Italeri parts pack, and the Todco liftgate is from the base kit- the C600 city delivery. I used that kit because of the longer frame. The flat bed itself is from a C600 stake truck. Edited September 6, 2015 by Chuck Most
Jonj238 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 That looks great! I love the weathering. Most trucks are shiny and perfect, but 1:1's were made for work. I need to learn how to weather. Great Job.
72 Charger Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Well I know there is no poll on this but my vote would go for having that Hudson on the back . That is really cool Chuck
wayne swayze Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I like the look of this one! Nice weathering also.
Renegade Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Another great weathering job. I vote for some kind of construction materials.
tbill Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Chuck, you never disappoint! But given the crane and the lift gate, it needs something industrial on the back, just my thoughts.
Chariots of Fire Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I'm with Mr. Billings. Pallets or something like a stationary diesel generator or truck parts maybe. Don't think using it to carry another vehicle quite does it.
Aaronw Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I've seen a few flatbeds with a crane like that used to deliver propane tanks. The tanks wouldn't be that hard to make, and would be something different.
Chuck Most Posted June 11, 2015 Author Posted June 11, 2015 Right- the Hudson's on the back of it for now, I'm thinking the permanent cargo might be scrap metals or something like that.
Dominik Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Two thumbs up Chuck! x2 chuck, your "Output" is outstanding....wow. and no less Quality on your results. Love that truck. with the load more than perfect.
Jim B Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Very nice looking build, Chuck. What about something like building materials for a load?
Plastheniker Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Very convincing wheathering, not overdone as so often! IMO this vehicle looks like a typical truck of an auto recycler. Therefore my vote goes to picture #5 and the pink wreck.
BirdWatcher Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Great work Chuck! Can't wait to try my hand at weathering soon, I doubt it'll come out as nice as yours, but it looks like so much fun! Thanks for sharing!
kilrathy10 Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 (edited) That's a pretty sharp build, Man.....Great looking truck....The Italeri wheels and tires look WAY better than the kit's.....Awesome.... I'm thinking a load of bricks or some bags of concrete would look good on there...... Edited June 18, 2015 by kilrathy10
olsbooks Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Cheers, applause and other assorted fanfare! Would like to know more about the crane. Peace.
gatorincebu Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 The truck looks great! For a load. I saw a couple of excavator buckets? :-) Be Well Gator
The Modeling Hermit Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) That's some beautiful detailing. You've got a lot of good load suggestions, and I could see it having a combination of some of them. This would be interesting with a load from a site that's being cleared for construction. The Hudson keeping company with some foundation material and other assorted debris that's been loaded onto it and headed to something like a landfill. What a sick thought though; a Hudson convertible, even in that bad of condition, being used for landfill. Edited June 22, 2015 by Kodiak Island Modeler
