Roadrunner Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) Well this is going to take some getting used to. What prompted the switch? Edited July 16, 2015 by Roadrunner
3100 chevy Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 I'm on a ipad and now I can do these things among fonts and stoof
Gregg Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 It's called moving on up.Changes need to be made. Some won't like itSome will. That's life in the city!!!
slusher Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Does the quotes and signatures go away with the new format ? I do like the new look...
Roadrunner Posted July 16, 2015 Author Posted July 16, 2015 Works for me. It will take some getting used to though, that's for sure. Do you anticipate fewer problems with this software?
Snake45 Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Does the quotes and signatures go away with the new format ? I do like the new look...As you can see, the quote feature is still here. It's harder now to see what you've already read. So far I don't like the new look as much as the old, BUT I will say that the change is not as awful as others I've endured elsewhere. I suppose we'll all survive it.
Jordan White Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 Is there going to be any optional themes or styles? Personally I think there's just too much white space with this new design.

aurfalien Posted July 16, 2015 Posted July 16, 2015 (edited) Very cool, now its a "responsive site" meaning it scales properly on any device. Looks cool on my iPhone. Nice work MCM crew, especially since OT is Own Time Edited July 16, 2015 by aurfalien
peter31a Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 We have 2 threads going on this topic, but Anthony I asked the same question on the other thread. I didn't have a long list but it will take awhile to find then again. I find this update greyish. Not as clean and crisp as the old one.
Guest Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I like how the ignored user function works. But, I don't like what happened with the avatars. So, I got rid of mine. There was barely anything left of it.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Eeees hokay.Chood be joosed to eeet een a few mor mineets.
Harry P. Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Sure do hate the round avatars. And we no longer have a signature line? Sheesh. This is bad. Real bad. Since the signature line is gone now, I guess the "full name in signature line" rule is irrelevant now? Me no likey.
Mike_G Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I'm not liking the round avatars either- I didn't design my avatar to be round. I'm also seeing lots of little rectangular boxes with little characters in them and have no idea what they are.
XJ6 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) I like how the ignored user function works. But, I don't like what happened with the avatars. So, I got rid of mine. There was barely anything left of it.I had the same problem tried to upload images from my iPhone 6 and was unable to do so kept telling me image was too large I even cropped the heck out them will try on the lap top some time. Good luck to you Edited July 17, 2015 by XJ6 Word error
TooOld Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I'm not here much anymore so I can live with it . At least I can still post a photo !
Rob Hall Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Changes seem fine to me so far...nice update over the old. Looks good w Chrome on Windows and Mac, and looks good on Safari on my Mac, iPhone and iPad.
Guest Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) I don't like how the quote function works. You can't tell which part is quoted and which part is a reply. I couldn't tell if Harry had quoted someone or if those were his words. I can see it be quite confusing at times. I also had to go back and turn my notifications off. I think I did anyway. I see the signatures are back. Edited July 17, 2015 by plowboy
Snake45 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) How do I get rid of the stupid, space-wasting "Announcement" that now appears at the top of EVERY page? BTW, just noticed that the sig lines are back. Edited July 17, 2015 by Snake45
JTRACING Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 I'm on an iPad and as I was reading this topic, a line popped up along the bottom telling me someone replied to this topic just now, so you get real time updates in threads. I don't like the round avatars though. Otherwise seems nice, works good on my desktop and iPad
chunkypeanutbutter Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Since you've gone as far as to revamp the site, why not tighten up the search feature? I can't find any results for words under 4 letters, like "hot rod" or "rig."
Yenkocamaro Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Change is not always good, especially for us old guys! But, I am happy to have the quote function back, and the rest will fall into place. The only thing I see,or hardly see, is the lines that separate the posts. Also, why a circle around our avatars? Cheers, Lance
Ramfins59 Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Like anything new, it will take time to get used to it. Gregg said it's "Moving on up"... Obviously he felt there was a need to upgrade even if most of us don't know or understand why. We'll be used to it in no time since most of us are on here so often.
