I've got a couple of the snap General Lee's and one of the 1/16 kits on order and just ordered one of these cute little Tamiya R/C Suzuki Jimny kits.

I have scooped up some kits that have been clearance priced at Hobby Lobby- Grumpy's Nova and the Revell '63 Corvette convertibles.I had a couple of old gift cards to use up and couldn't resist as technically they didn't cost me any "real" money! LOL.

I am thinking that Moebius Satellite could be on the radar, although I was supposed to be thinning the herd, not adding to it!

I was born in 1956 and I've decided to build some '56 cars between now and when I turn 60.  I got the Chevy (building now) and Ford so now I need the 56 Chrysler.  I wish I could find a 56 Stude but I heard the resin kit isn't made any more.

Something might show up before my order of '29 highboys arrives......

You said "highboys" as in plural.......... You must have several projects in mind....!!

There are multiple possibilities.....plus loading up the parts box.

Probably a bunch of parts this time around. Tires, both for drag and street. Headers, diorama bits, detail stuff, seats, headlight lenses, maybe some wheels.

For a full kit, if I find an AMT Opel for a reasonable price, I'll probably get one.

Agent G, I've gotta ask.......... Are you one of those guys with a huge layout in your den with your models set up on a table, re-enacting battles that you may have been in?

If so, I've always found that pretty cool................

I have several displays depicting my interests.

The North African Campaign is near and dear to me as three family members were involved.

Next is my series of builds depicting USMC armor from the very first to the present. I personally served as a Marine rifle company commander but have always loved modeling tanks.

Last but not least are my police car builds. I am attempting to build one of every car I drove,  as well as cars that interest me.

I wish I had the room to create large dioramas or have a wargame table.

I have my eye on a couple of kits but after spending last Saturday going through some of my stash and finding stuff I had forgotten about, that could be changing. I really need to sell off some more stuff before I buy more kits, although I could be up for some trades.

There are a couple of shows coming up in the next month or so, really should see about getting a table and selling some kits, but then I am tempted to buy stuff from other vendors!

I'm in the same boat Mike as I just sold some kits this past Sunday at a small swap meet. The swap space was free, which was even better and I didn't buy anything either. I'm plannin' on buyin' the new Satellite and the upcoming Model A roadster. Will you be havin' a table at the Du Page show in Wheaton in Sept.?

Nick,

I live in North Carolina, so no, I won't be at the Du Page show next month. I used to live in Lake County but moved South 10 years ago and remember going to the show in Wheaton, got some great stuff at those shows.

I stopped in at a Hobby Lobby here in South Carolina and was tempted to buy a model on clearance until my memory kicked in and I put it back- already have 3 of them!

The first one ('59 Ford hardtop, $36-something) ended a couple hours ago - but it went higher than I wanted to go much earlier in the day and the last bid was a few hours before the end.

P.S. What's with this quote problem? It's starting to look like an M.C. Escher drawing! You can't clean it up completely either.

You can always code your own, which is what I've done above.  I haven't figured out how to put the poster's name in the box.

To do this,  copy the quote, and paste it in the Submit Reply box.

type [ quote ] in front of your quoted text and  [ /quote ]  at the end of it. Note that I added spaces between the brackets to keep it from working on this line, eliminate those spaces.

The quote function is messed up with this new forum "upgrade."

Back to the subject at hand... as some of you may know, I build 1/8 scale Pocher kits. I've built them all except for my "holy grail," a Pocher Bugatti. Never found one for sale that wasn't priced in the stratosphere, so after all these years I still needed a Bugatti to complete my collection of Pocher "classics."

The other day I saw a couple of them on ebay, as usual... but this time I bit the bullet and clicked on a "Buy It Now" listing. Sort of a spur-of-the-moment thing... there's no way I could justify buying it as a "rational" purchase. ^_^

I paid the equivalent of two mortgage payments for it. And the strange thing is, I feel fine with that! B)

Can't wait for it to arrive.

My wife about killed me when I paid 200 bucks for a Bill Signs Peterbilt. I cant imagine what she would do if paid the price for a Pocher. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say I'd be single after that purchase.
