otherunicorn Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 (edited) If you know the source of the photo don't post that info here! It ruins the game for everyone else. So what do you think? Real or model? The answer: Model! http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/Zimmermann.htm Edited July 31, 2015 by otherunicorn
Jantrix Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Yeah, I don't know of any modeler that adds the wheel well trim screws. I think it's real.
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 It's almost so obviously real...but I'm going with model.
dw1603 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 It's almost so obviously real...but I'm going with model.My thoughts exactly, Model
mikemodeler Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 some things hint Model, others hint Real, so I went with Model.
gbdolfans Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I voted real, which means it is a model.Good one to guess. some things say real, and, some cry model. This is a tough one!!!!
Harry P. Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Well, since I'm on the playing end this time, I'll say there's something here that very obviously says "model."
horsepower Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Probably wrong, but something about this appears to be a fairly high dollar die cast, but it's a model in my eyes the tires had me wondering but closer inspection changed my mind.
otherunicorn Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 I nearly typed "Real" for the answer...It's a Model. It even has working electric windows, to give you some idea of the detail.Harry, what's your obvious tell? (assuming it isn't the tires)http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/Zimmermann.htm
Badluck 13 Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 (edited) The windshield just looked too clear,no blue tint......and this is one of the few R.O.M. I have actually got right!!! Woooooo Hoooo!! Edited July 31, 2015 by Badluck 13

Harry, what's your obvious tell? (assuming it isn't the tires) http://www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/Zimmermann.htm The front emblem and "OLDSMOBILE" letters are bad, and the roof is too flat; it should have a noticeable "bulge' to it. But the important thing is... you fooled them!
mikemodeler Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 For me it was the door gaps and the outside mirror, just didn't look real enough to me.
otherunicorn Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 But the important thing is... you fooled them! And that is not easy to do!

But the important thing is... you fooled them! What I thought looked modelish (a new word for the dictionary?) Was the front header above the headlights had a different curve to it it kinda flattened out then took a curve up to the hood. But those tires almost changed my mind, the most realistic aged rubber tires I've seen on ANY type of model.
