John Goschke Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 Thanks for the comments, guys! After all this time it seems strange not seeing this on the bench anymore. Now I've got to decides which of the 20+ unfinished projects returns to the head of the line!
John Goschke Posted October 26, 2015 Author Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) Beautiful work! What do you use for masking? Thanks, Tom! Here are a couple shots from my T-bird project that should give you an idea of the masking process. I cut the black photographic tape in very thin strips to outline the pattern, then fill in with larger pieces of tape (on the 'bird I used Tamiya tape, on the Sunliner, regular 3M masking tape.) The photo tape is strong, yet flexible, allowing me to work around tight curves. Masking these has typically taken from eight to 12 hours. It should be noted that the process for the Sunliner was somewhat the opposite shown here. For the Sunliner, I masked the blue and white so the silver could be shot last.
