RAMBENNA Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Up for your viewing pleasure, MPC 67 Pontiac GTO. I needed this car to complete my GTO collection but this kit is a bugger to build and make look good. the box says new tool but for new tool there was a lot of flash to clean up and some fit problems, just looking for a review mirror in my spares box. painted with Tamiya TS-39 MICA RED. Took the pictures inside ,its just to cold outside here right now. as always your comments are appreciated.
Snake45 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 You did a nice job with that wretched turd of a kit. Well done a model on!
blunc Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I concur. Someday I have to turn one of those turds into a replica of my 67 Tempest.
Renegade Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Nice clean build. Looks like the crowd also agrees.
RiskiestLion Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 great for what it was did the wheels come stock ? its actually one of my favorite models of the gto
Mr Stock Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 You did a good job on a not so good a kit......Ive heard so many horror stories about this kit that I think Id like to try and build one soon just because I like a challenge.
Cardz Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 ive heard about the issues with this kit. imo you did really good with what ya had to work with!
hemihauler11 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Great job on a terrible terrible kit I have this And to be honest I've put of building it I think 3 times now lol
ZTony8 Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Nice job on a not so nice kit.I'm solving some of my problems with this kit by bashing the body with the AMT '67 Malibu Pro Street kit
RAMBENNA Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 thanks for the comments, yes it is a bad kit this is my second one. looks good with my collection but it won't be so soon that I try another
unclescott58 Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Good looking model. Is this kit really the turd everybody says it is? Or is it just an old tool, that is not as nice as recently tooled up kits, like Revell's '66 GTO? Seems like more than a few guys here, including Cliff here, have built some decent looking '67 GTOs from this kit.
Greg Pugh Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Nice job! Especially considering what you had to work with!

I do all my photo-taking inside, where I can be assured of a consistent light source. I have recently started to use the "daylight" setting for white balance, with flash, and it's produced the most realistic looking photos... just as if it were outside.
Bob Ellis Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 It's a 48 year old kit that was a converted promo. At least the exhaust are separate. It seems okay to me. Can't compare it to the Revell 1966 GTO.
