bogger44 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 This kit isn't the greatest as everyone knows, I didn't put a whole lot of effort into it just tried to make it a decent shelfer. I even glued the hood shut to hide that V6-looking 360. I added some aluminum tubing exhaust tips, and also the vinyl canopy top, otherwise it's box stock. Paint is Duplicolor Medium Garnet Red Metallic, I had a hard time getting a true representation of the color while shooting the pics. I left off the mirrors as I didn't care for them, and will slap on some license plates when I scrounge up a decent set. Oh yeah, those cowl vent need to be done too, I almost always forget those Lol! This kit was a little challenging at times, but I think I got about all I could out of it without 'bashing it with a Duster. Thanks for looking and any comments guys.
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 That's really sharp looking nice model!vince
Monty Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 What! You didn't use the "custom" (Pontiac) wheels? I love the color, and the 1/2 vinyl top helps sell the image. Sadly, from what I've read, your build quality probably far exceeds the 1:1 cars.

At least I know this one won't be rusted out within a couple years!

For the top, after primer of course, I sprayed on a coat of Krylon Fusion Textured paint followed by another coat of primer (Duplicolor Filler Primer) to scale down the texturing a bit. Lastly, I topped it off with coat of Krylon flat black.
Nacho Z Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I think it looks great, Tony. You said you wanted a decent looking "shelfer". Mission accomplished.....(and exceeded).
vc273 Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Very nice build with what this kit has to offer or lack of I should say.
JTalmage Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Thats a beautiful Dart! Just needs some blackwash in the grille
restoman Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 I think you did a bang up job! I'd be quite happy with it.
drodg Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 Very nice job. I built the same kit a few years ago and built it as a Hang Ten with decals from Keith Marks. Anyhow your build is excellent.
bogger44 Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 Thanks for the comments guys, I appreciate it.
Greg Pugh Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 WOW! That's SHARP!! Especially considering the kit! Nice job!!
Speedfreak Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Nice job! Nice work on the top and paint.
charlie8575 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 That looks great, especially the vinyl top. I might try that technique myself.I have one of these; I've heard the Duster is coming back out, so if I can grab that (or at a show cheap,) I'll build it.Even then, I might anyway simply to get it done.Charlie Larkin
bogger44 Posted December 23, 2015 Author Posted December 23, 2015 Thanks again guys, glad you like this polished turd Lol.
