Nice cage work Meesh, just bolt the drive train to it, and yer doneB)

Is it just me, or is it really quiet at the cannonball, this year...?

A thing called 'Life' Bruce, I'm going through a modellers block at the moment, just couldn't be bothered.

On the plus side as stated before, I've finished my entry....maybe when the desire to build kicks back in, I'll build another entry:D

I'm doing the B.R.B.O as well, which I need to find the motivation to make some headway

Getting close!

Thank to all for your comments, it certainly helps to keep on truckin'.

Bruce I'm definitely one of the quiet ones. My charger is in the background since I'm focused on two builds that mean a lot to me...and I'm trying my hand at molding/casting some stuff.

Misha that looks badass. I think I'm gonna start the cage work in the charger soon. I'm still contemplating my engine choices. I can go anywhere from 440 v8, single turbo supra 2jz, all the way to 1.7 liter IMSA turbo 4-cyl or even mazda rotary...

I ran into a problem with the plumbing for my turbos and thus don't have anything to show but frustration!! Dang shock towers.

Between single parenting and extended work schedule, the modeling bench hasn't seen much action. It is a good thing the deadline is far in the future. My projects always take a long time anyway. I have started though. I have started roughing out what will become a backseat large-capacity fueltank.

I have also set the ride height, and dialed in wheel placement up front.

Here is a better view of the temporary bracing put in to keep the wheel in place while I'm building the suspension.

Be patient and bear with me. This is going to take time.

Great work guys, nice to see some of the builds moving forward. My build has stalled out as I'm just not happy with the wheels and tires stance. I'm thinking of changing my kit yet staying with the same idea.

Nice work everyone. Small update for me, haven't been working much on the Raptor but the parts I wanted are in, so time to scratch up the rest or modify what I have.

Modified the hood for what's underneath and thinking about adding some extra lighting.

And starting to make room under the hood.

Jeremy from Clearly Scale says that this monstercharged 351 DOHC will put out 800ish horses, should be enough to keep this beast ahead of the Auzzie cops.

Looking forward to more updates from you guys.

K5 Blazer - Entry #18 Chassis Update

G'Day Mates,

Been busy with family visits to AZ from north of the 49th, so haven't had that much time at the bench. Have worked on the chassis and it's nearly ready for primer! Added on the front mount for the Roo Bar and winch to attach to and have fabricated the connecting mounts for the roll bar cage. It's not to regulation just to bolt the cage to the sheet metal floor, it has to tie into the frame so that the entire structure is one piece. Also switched the steering gear around to the starboard side to match the RHD interior. Going to mount the pedals and brake m/c plus booster from the 67 Camaro kit to line up with the steering and dash. Made a pattern from card for the skid plate in front then fabricated in plastic along with attachment points on the chassis. Used half round strips to add strengthening to the plate. Ready now for any kangaroo or ditch excursions in the Outback.

Washing the body parts in preparation for the first primer coats and then shooting TS-34 Camel Yellow for the body with a tan top. Next on the build list is the roof rack that will be connected to the roll cage. The frame and cage will be finished in TS-38 Gun Metal. All paints are Tamiya rattle cans, as the air brush rig is back on Vancouver Island. Only a few weeks before flying home, will catch the Desert Scale Classic here in Phoenix on April 9th.

Cheers for now, Misha

Whoops! Can't upload the pics as even one exceeds my 9.16MB, not sure what to do, as I don't use any other program for photos.

Going to give it another shot for downloading. Signed up for Fotki... Let's see what happens! It's more complicated than I thought... Have to,do,some research, sorry!

Nice progress guys. My charger is just hanging out, all in pieces, as I've restarted my suspension build.

I have collected all my parts, to try and build a fully working suspension that can do travel/rebound/flex...I may scratch the idea but I have it patterned together in my head, just hope I can engineer it from styrene and brass.

I also have been practicing roll cage building on my other projects, so I can confidently get into it now. Will get back to this car soon.

Neat work Bruce, that rear suspension is very intriguing!

It's  great to see how the competition is heating up, great ideas out there and a rich variety of builds.

now to get back to the workbench.

Cheers Mates, Misha
