PhilX Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 The 1932 CADILLAC 452b, I built a long, long time ago : Do you like the Monogram wire wheels ? I hate them : too thick :
PhilX Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 So, I was searching a solution and find that wheel covers were available for 1932 Cadillac
PhilX Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) So, I made some inserts : Edited January 13, 2016 by PhilX
PhilX Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 The entire process is here (pages 22 to 27) :http://www.forum-auto.com/forum2.php?config=automobile-pratique.inc&cat=4&post=13141&page=22&sondage=0&owntopic=1&trash=&trash_post=&print=&numreponse=0"e_only=&new=&nojs=0Sorry for numerous digressions due to a very friendly forum. It's in french, but if any question, you can ask here.
Balsa Manufaktur Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Man, you drive me crazy !!!!!! ... (sorry for the "attaque de la passion") ... how wonderful! you are an artist !! I have just two questions: the roof is, as I see, in fabric? and, from a more technical point of view of the car itself, how does the rear seat worK? I mean there is a door, but then you cannot reach the seats because there is a window screen. Could it be somehow turned down? Is it the same in the original car?
PhilX Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Thank you very much First of all, the roof is only the monogram plastic roof with Humbrol paint (sorry for the disappointment ) To understand the access to the rear seat, I would like to post a video, but don't know how to do <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dQnn6tLE4dg?feature=player_embedded" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
landman Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Philippe, C'est formidable. You have the "touch" with classic cars.
wayne swayze Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Lovely classic ! The wheels are a big improvement, and I really like the colours, especially the tan roof ! Well done !
Dave Van Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 (edited) Very nice work. The wire wheels are a little thick but these Caddy's had some thick wires as they were really heavy cars and the wires were a lot heavier than a Ford wheel or the like. The overall look of yours is great. Here is a older Caddy I built. Love these big cars! Edited January 13, 2016 by Dave Van
Deathgoblin Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Gorgeous work! You're totally right, the inserts just seem to make the wheels on that one.
peekay Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Beautifully built classic! And, although I personally don't mind the original wheels, your replacements are perfectly made and much more realistic. Fabulous!
gtx6970 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Love it,I have one of these in the stash for my someday build
PhilX Posted January 13, 2016 Author Posted January 13, 2016 Thank you all for comments Dave, I love very much your 1933 Cadillac 452C. I have it to built (and also the same with the All Weather Phaeton body). Just a question about the semi-gloss body : which paint have you used ?
