yh70 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 This is a replica of my brothers old truck setting in my back yard.. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y522/yh70/Ford%20F%20700%20boom%20truck/SAM_0772.jpg] /Ford%20F%20700%20boom%20truck/SAM_0778.jpg
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Very cool build!! I have done my fair share of work on f600 and 700s like this. Nice work!
Superpeterbilt Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Great job and great build. This thing is cool. The weathering is perfect and very realistic. Can you tell us more about it, was it a resin kit, scratch built, what chassis donor did you use?
Chuck Most Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Quite the tire swing setup you have there.
gatorincebu Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Dave, This is another one of your builds that I really like. There was one similar to this on the pipeline job I did in the Florida Keys. I regret not getting any pictures of that rig. Be Well Gator
leafsprings Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Great build. Very realistic looking workhorse. Medium duty trucks are my favorite builds, there are many directions you can go with them. What's under the hood? A Cat or a SD?
Mopar - D Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Another excellent build Dave! Any chance of seeing this next Saterday at the SWAMP show?
towman1271 Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Great weathering.. You didn't miss a detail
Canso65 Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Great build Dave. I had to look a few times to see if I was looking at the model or the real thing.Great detailing and weathering!Rob

OlSchoolRedo Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Spot on weathering Dave. Truck looks well used, but not used up. Great job!

yh70 Posted January 25, 2016 Author Posted January 25, 2016 Great job and great build. This thing is cool. The weathering is perfect and very realistic. Can you tell us more about it, was it a resin kit, scratch built, what chassis donor did you use?Terry the cab is from missing link resin casters, frame is from the ford 8000, wheels and tires from moluminum model truck parts and the bumper-bed is scratched built
Rigzndiesel Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 This is a very nice build. So real...I like the flatbed on the truck with the hidden 5th wheel. My Grandfather had two of these trucks in his construction business and I used to ride in them with him. One had a dump box and the other was a stake bed. I like everything about it!
Tommy Isbister Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 (edited) It looks like the old Davey tree trucks that I use to see here in Georgia. Davey tree trimmed and cleared power line right of ways and always had green Ford F700 4x4's. Excellent scratch building job. Edited January 28, 2016 by Tommy Isbister
Plastheniker Posted February 4, 2016 Posted February 4, 2016 Really unusual and convincing in every respect, very realistic!
leafsprings Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 just a old gas burner like the real one..F 800's came with 475 gas V8's, same engine family as the 534 found in Ford C series tilt cabs. F 7000's came with cat 636 V8 diesels, same engine found in Louisville kits. The smaller gas engines found in F500 thru F 750's are very similar in appearance to the 70's AMT Ford F 350 or Mobius '71 F 100 kits.
