Jason Foster Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) Here is my latest project. Chopped the top 3.5". Made my own fender skirts. Sinful Colors Cinderella nail polish paint (no clear yet). Custom made window trim. This is my first time chopping a curvy car like this. I think it turned out well. Thanks for looking. espo Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Great job on the chop and the window moldings are very impressive.
louie Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 You did an amazing job chopping the roof and the fender skirts are top notch too. Actually, everything is perfect. Thanks. Jeff
Roncla Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Well done. Your chop has a really smooth flow to it.
Spex84 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 That's a fantastic looking chop! It matches the fat fenders very nicely, great flow.
Ramfins59 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Fantastic top chop Jason. You should see if you could get a quality resin caster to make some repops for the rest of us who don't have the same bodywork skills.
Jason Foster Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Thanks for all the comments. Small update to the paint. Add Pearl-ex Duo Blue-Green to the clear. Shot two coats of this, followed by one coat straight clear. Looks much better I think. Take a look. Thanks for looking.
Mr. Metallic Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Nice color, and the chop looks great. Can we see the window trim in place?
DumpyDan Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 First Chop! well you might as well start chopping the real cars now. Well done
Jason Foster Posted March 2, 2016 Author Posted March 2, 2016 Small update this evening. Got the chassis modified to be as low as possible. Think it looks pretty good. I can live with it.
misterNNL Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 What are your window frames made from? Please post any work in progress photos you might have have taken during that really slick top chop.
Ramfins59 Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Please post any work in progress photos you might have have taken during that really slick top chop.Absolutely...... I'd love to see how you did it...... Because I'd LOVE to try doing it too...!!!
misterNNL Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I believe that if someone would mold just the chopped top section from the beltline up and make it available in resin there would certainly be a lot of ready and willing builders lining up to lay down their cash.I would certainly be at the head of that line!!

And I'd be right behind you Tom.
