talon63 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Just a quick little weekend build. Turned this: Into this: That rear window and the headlight BMF was addressed, just didn't get another picture. Thanks for looking!
DumpyDan Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Very Nice, I have never seen one of these built
Foxer Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Looking good. It's interesting how they cast the 'multi-piece' body.
sjordan2 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Great work, especially at such a small scale.
talon63 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Looking good. It's interesting how they cast the 'multi-piece' body.Yeah, definitely a bit fiddly getting the body together for finishing and painting. The dash mounts to the sides via a couple of slots, and there is a very narrow ridge the side panels sit on below the hip line. Pop in the dash to make it more study, tape off the interior, clean up the seams, and it comes out pretty solid. Best thing about that is the lack of mold lines overall on the body. Cleanup was quick and easy. Observation, the minor window pillars for the vent/ and rear quarter are out of scale and don't join the body at the roof line correctly. I'm thinking of getting a couple of these to customize, if the price is right, and will correct that in any other versions. Thanks for the comments!
peter31a Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Wow! You don't see these posted too often. You did a great job with this kit. Kudos!
blunc Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 that is a great job on an unusual scale subject, my eye has a problem with several aspects of this kit that have caused me to put off building this kit for others in this scale until I feel like dealing with the too flat frontal area and the seemingly too short trunk (or roof may be too long, haven't felt like pinning it down yet).if you feel like adding an engine, there are 1/32 scale stock car snaps that have separate-ish engines.there are also testors IMSA corvette kits that have a very detailed V8 drive train that can be used.
mr moto Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I had no idea that kit could be built so well! Great job!
vintagercr Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Very Nice, I have never seen one of these builtI haven't either
carrucha Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Looks nice. I recently won this kit at the NNL West raffle. Very simple kit. Too bad there no chrome parts.
