Mercelo Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 This is the old original issue of this kit, which was a real nice kit, l have to admit l was impressed with the fit. Only problem l had was the old decals....brutal, couldn't make them work. So luckily, l had two of these kits in my stash, and the second one was still sealed so l was forced to rob the decals from it. Still not the best! I painted the stripes rather than using the kit decals so l could ensure everything matched nicely color wise.
cobraman Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Nice model. I see you have the same problem I have, getting the plug wires to drape the way they would on a real car.
Nacho Z Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 That is a great looking model! I really like those low angle photos.
AZ Boy Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Beautiful work, Marcelo! Very clean building technique. The detail, paint and decals look great.
1930fordpickup Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 This is one fine looking Model. But I will say this is my Favorite Prostock car ever.
futurattraction Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Super job, Marcelo. Nice detailing and finish work. I, too, really like the low-angle photos. Am I correct in thinking you have stripped the wheels and repainted them? They don't look, to my eye, like they've got the chromed finished that the kit ones do.
Mercelo Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Thank you, fellow modellers, l love the comments. Yes ( Futureattraction) you are correct sir, l almost always strip the chrome parts off my models, and then use the Alclad system with either chrome or polished aluminum to obtain (in my opinion) a more believable look. I was pleased with the turn out of the wheels, on this model, but as you probably know, it doesn't always work out perfectly....there is a fine line to be walked, when trying to achieve a chrome look for sure. Good eye, thanks for the nice comments.
Davewilly Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Very Nice! very clean build. I also noticed the wheels and how REAL they looked.. Great job!
comp1839 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 great looking car. you've done a really great job on this super clean build.
VEGADETH Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Very well done!!! I have to agree on the Alclad,, nice job Appling it!!
madhorseman Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Nicely Done Marcelo!Bob Glidden is one of my all time favorite drivers, in any series.
dragcarz Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Did you adjust the front ride height, it seems most of these kits I see built have the nose too high?
Dave Van Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 After watching the NHRA from LV this weekend and seeing te new/current PS cars.......I like this build even more!!
Old Coyote Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Very nice build sir ............ most impressive
Mercelo Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 Thanks again everybody, just to answer your question dragcarz, no l did not alter the ride height, and l to was most impressed by how nicely the front end sits way down perfectly.....l was really impressed with this kit all the way around.
W-409 Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Very nice job on this Pro Stock Ford! I have the same kit in my stash waiting to be built, but I'm missing the decals for it... Anyway you did a great job on this. The paint and decal work looks really good to me even though you had some problems, and sharp details in the engine bay look good too. Nice work.
