Matt Bacon Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Well, she's finally done! And finally a couple shot with a different lens that should be a better approximation of what a human eye sees looking at one of these: A really nice base kit, much enhanced by the Fine Molds white metal parts (plus you end up with a spare 427 engine!) bestest, M. cobraman Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Very nicely done. Always love to see a well built Cobra model.
bbowser Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Outstanding! With the right backround it would be hard to distinguish from a 1:1. Well done.
Matt Bacon Posted March 23, 2016 Author Posted March 23, 2016 Thanks, guys. And yes, grrrr... I have missed the front indicators. Fortunately, I have now located them on an offcut end of formerly chrome sprue that has been stripped, and repainted them chrome silver. Tomorrow I'll do the orange and then I can add them and this thing will REALLY be finished!bestest,M.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Very nice. Can't go wrong with a redhead...
Hubert Rollins Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 Super- nice Cobra!! But how did you talk Betty-Lou into posing with it??
Matt Bacon Posted March 24, 2016 Author Posted March 24, 2016 (edited) Thank you very much, gentlemen! As for Betty-Lou, she's putty in my hands... When we first met, she was in pieces, and it was only thanks to my help she pulled herself together. She's been at my beck and call ever since.;-Pbestest,M. Edited March 24, 2016 by Matt Bacon
om617 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Very nice Cobra. I like the how you keep the hood open, looks better then those fat toothpics lol.
shoopdog Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Very nice. Just picked up the Monagram kit yesterday, can only hope it turns out half as nice as yours.
1930fordpickup Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 As everyone has said, it is a good looking model. Well done.
Dann Tier Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Very nicely done. Always love to see a well built Cobra model. AGREED!! Q:what color are the wheels?, and how did you do the weather stripping around the engine bay?
Plastheniker Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Neat as always and IMO the best-looking colour combination on a Cobra.
unclescott58 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Looks good. And I'm with Jurgen above, the color you chose is the right one for a 427 Cobra.
Matt Bacon Posted March 28, 2016 Author Posted March 28, 2016 Thanks very much, guys...@Dann Tier the wheels are the white metal parts as cast, with a light overspray of Tamiya Smoke to pop the detail and stop them oxidising to white. The "weather strip" is just a pointed black marker pen run around the angle of the flange...Betty-Lou's sister Samantha has apparently just boarded her plane for a visit...;-Pbestest,M.
